Alpine Hotel Bright - NEW

The Alpine Hotel Bright is located in the heart of the Alpine Shire in Bright. The Alpine Hotel has been established since 1852. This family orientated pub serves great food from local producers, is locally owned and prides itself on its customer service. Facilities include bistro meals and pizza's, accommodation, weekly entertainment, fund raising and charity activities, live FOXTEL, competition and lots more. Mini bus service available.

The Alpine Hotel was established before the 1860’s on Growlers Creek. The original building was built of pine and had a shingle roof, 12 rooms, a ten-stall stable, a good kitchen and an out house.
The hotel was run by a scottsman by the name of Thomas McCarrick who had previously run the Gold diggers arms.
In 1863 the Alpine was operated by James Spaulding, changing hands in August 1865 to Mr Cathcart and Mr McBride who bought the hotel.
In 1868 Alex Cathcart had the building shifted and re-erected in Bright. To celebrate the relocation, Cathcart put on an opening ball and supper. A brass band was hired for the occasion.
The current brick building was built in 1890 by Captain John McFarlaine. Over the next century The Alpine Hotel underwent several structural changes, however always maintaining the heritage feel. M & S Whelan Investments undertook major renovations in 1990/1991 to re-establish the hotel to it’s former glory.
In March 2015 local residents, Brian and Simone purchased the Alpine Hotel. Plans to refurbish the hotel are in the making and our goal is to give the premise a family feel along with maintaining the heritage and character of the building.
