The cottage is fully self-contained and is to be left tidy, with a clean kitchen and the dishes put away or in the dishwasher. If you turn on the dishwasher please take care to use the 50 minute cycle.
There is a variety of cooking appliances in the kitchen, so please use them as you need, but ensure they are cleaned and put away. Pots and Pans are not to be placed in the dishwasher.
Used towels can be placed in the laundry basket in the main bathroom upon departure.
We support our local authority's strict recycling requirements so request you take care to separate your waste carefully and place in the bins clearly labelled under the carport.
We are a Smoke Free property. There is no smoking anywhere on the property either inside or outside. There is a minimum smoking fine of $500 for guests who smoke in the room to cover the cleaning of linen, carpets and furniture in the room, plus any additional costs incurred to re-accommodate subsequent guests.
NO PARTY POLICY
There is a strict no party policy at all times.
A wood burner fireplace is available for use during winter months. This is for your ambiance and not required for heating. For guests with children we recommend using the heat pump only. If the guests bring children and choose to use the fireplace they are fully responsible for the safety of children.
The top of the wood burner is NOT to be used for cooking purposes.
SAFETY and SECURITY
No responsibility whatsoever is taken for the property of the guests on or near the premises.
No liability is accepted for any injury, debt, damage, loss, delay, expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by events beyond the Owner's/Management's control.
Candles are not permitted to be used for safety reasons.
The Owners/Management reserve the right to access the property at any time to maintain the gardens, fixtures, appliances and all other equipment as deemed necessary.
REPAIRS and DAMAGES
All damages must be notified to the owners/management. The owners/management will determine if a damage fee will apply. If the damage is serious, estimates or quotes will be provided to the guest and the guest’s insurer. Non-notified damages will be charged to the guests’ credit card at the owners’ discretion.
You are responsible for the safekeeping of accommodation keys. If keys are lost we are required to change all locks by our insurance company. Any costs incurred in changing locks will be charged to the credit card provided. Please note this is an expensive exercise as locksmiths are at least 1 hour drive away from Lake Tekapo.
If a medical or any other emergency occurs during your stay immediately contact '111' and follow the instructions from the Operator. Owners/Management should be made aware of the situation as soon as is reasonable.
Our local authority civil defence emergency information is displayed in the cottage. We recommend you read on arrival.
Lake Tekapo has a volunteer fire and ambulance service. If the village siren should sound this is NOT an emergency for you. It is a call for the volunteers to respond to the siren as they have had a call out.
ADDITIONAL CHARGES MAY APPLY
Management reserves the right to charge an additional amount after check-out to the credit card supplied at the time of booking should housekeeping staff notify management that linen or chattels are not accounted for, there has been damage sustained during the booking occupancy, or the cottage has been left in such a state that it requires excessive cleaning.
