Terms & Conditions

TERMS + CONDITIONS
When you book accommodation with us you are entering into a legally binding contract to the conditions set out below. We recommend you read them carefully.

PRICES
Badger’s View Farmstay “BVFS” review prices and set them on an annual basis and are subject to change. Rates are nightly with no minimum stay. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times.

BOOKINGS
Full payment is required at time of booking. All bookings will be confirmed again before arrival. Bookings will not be accepted by anyone under 18 years.

PAYMENT METHOD
Payment must be made at time of booking. Payment is taken as your agreement of our terms and conditions.

CANCELLATION
BVFS recommends you have adequate insurance in case of any unforeseen circumstances resulting in last minute cancellations by either party – your booking is a legally binding contract. Any changes or cancellations must be made in writing by email. A booking can only be amended or cancelled upon receipt of your confirmation. Cancellations by phone cannot be guaranteed.

If you do cancel your booking the below will apply:
– Full refund 48 hrs after booking;
– 50% refund 14 days to 72hrs prior to check in excluding service fees; and
– No refund under 72 hrs.
If it becomes necessary for BVFS to cancel your booking, we shall use reasonable endeavours to arrange a similar alternative booking and standard, or we will offer a full refund. We will be relieved of all lability should BVFS accommodation not be made available due to unforeseen circumstances (see force majeure) beyond our control.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Check in is from 2pm and check out is by 10am. Please advise us of your estimated time of arrival so we can greet you.

PET POLICY
We are dog friendly. Please be mindful we are a working farm and all dogs should be on a lead when outside the designated dog yard.

SMOKING
BVFS has a non-smoking policy in or around all buildings. Smoking is permitted at a reasonable distance away from all buildings.

Candles, incense, or naked flames are not to be used inside the cottage or cabins at any time. To do so may result in a charge for damages.

FREE WIFI
BVFS Guests are welcome to connect to our free WIFI. Instructions can be found in your guest book.

GUEST LIABILITY
All guests are jointly and severally liable for the cost of any damage caused by anyone or to anyone in their party during their stay or whilst in the grounds. Use of our facilities are at the quests own risk, and we shall not be liable for personal injury. Care shall be taken whilst walking around the farm and the garden, and we suggest the use of sturdy outdoor shoes. Boots are provided upon request. If any guest causing damage to the property, including but not limited to guest rooms, furnishings, artwork or linens will result in a change for the replacement value or necessary cleaning. We reserve the right to ask guests to leave the premises without refund or compensation if damage is deemed to have been caused deliberately.

OUR LIABILITY
We cannot accept any lability for damage, expense, injury, death or loss of any nature whatsoever by any person (s) from any cause whatsoever other than the proven negligence of ourselves or employees. This does not attempt to exclude negligence or breach of statutory duty.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY
Maximum occupancy of accommodation is 4 adults (including accompanying children). Room rates are charged for 2 adults. Any additional persons will be charged an additional $35 for service fees.

GUEST LAUNDRY
Laundry facilities are provided for each guest. Please refer to the guest book for
Information on location and use of equipment. Guests are asked to use care and respect when using these facilities.

DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR
Subject to the owner’s discretion, BVFS reserves the right to refuse check in or ask guests to leave without refund if guests are found to act inappropriately e.g., drunk, acting in nuisance, disturbance, putting others at risk, rude or threatening behaviour towards others.

LOST KEYS
The cost of replacing lost keys is $10 per key.

VALUABLES
Guests shall take adequate precautions for their own personal belongings and vehicles. BVFS cannot be held responsible for last or stolen items. Items of value left behind will he returned to quests including a postage fee.

COOKING
Guests are asked to respect and maintain any cooking facilities and use with due care.

PARKING
Parking is available for all quests, please use designated areas. Do not park over gates or laneways. Vehicles and accessories are left at owners’ risk, and we will not be responsible for any loss or damage unless negligent by ourselves.

SHORTCOMINGS
Please advise staff at BVFS reception immediately of any shortcomings relating to your accommodation. We cannot accept any liability if you fail to notify us of any complaint or claim during your stay.

PRIVACY POLICY
BVFS is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of any personal and transactional information is protected to the highest standards. Any personal information you provide to us will be used with discretion for the following:
– Contact you directly;
– Contact relating to booking platform; and/or
– Police/authorities in an emergency.

We can provide further information upon request on how we collect your personal
information, how we use it, the limits under which we use it, and how we keep it secure.

We keep personal details to be able to process your booking. To do this we need to know your name, email, billing address and phone number. No credit card details are stared beyond completion of your stay. Changes to this policy and all terms and conditions may take place annually as needed. This policy was implemented in September 2023.

FORCE MAJEURE
We regret we cannot accept any responsibility or pay any compensation where
our agreed contract is prevented or affected by reason of circumstance which amounts to force majeure: an event we cannot foresee or avoid. This could include weather, flooding, fire, explosions, break ins, government restrictions, road closures, natural disasters, threat of war, terrorist activity, travel, or medical events including Covid outbreak.

BVFS is located at 290 Newbed Road, Railton, Tasmania 7305. Please call or message for further instructions and we will be happy to guide you to the farm.
