BLACKWOOD NATURE HOMES
TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. BOOKINGS
A. Rates are quoted in Philippine Peso.
B. Valid ID with Photo must be sent upon confirmation of booking.
C. Standard Check-in time for Nature Dome is 2:00 PM and Check-out time is 10:00 AM. Standard Check-in time for Nature Home is 4:00 PM and Check-out time is 12:00 PM. Early check-in or late check out may be requested via e-mail and is subject to availability. If available, charge of PHP 1,000 per hour will be billed to the guest/s.
D. Night extensions are subject to availability.
E. Room rate(s) is/are subject to adjustment based on prevailing rates during new travel date(s).

2. RESERVATION and CANCELLATION
All Bookings come in First come, first serve basis.When the Guest makes a booking request, the guest MUST make the appropriate deposit payment immediately after confirming date availability. If the required deposit payment is not received at most an hour after the booking request, Blackwood reserves the right to void the guest’s booking request. The following deposit payment is applicable (see individual villa terms for full details) must be received by Blackwood:

For reservations made 30 days before the date of booking - a deposit of 50% of the total rental amount is required to reserve the date/s. While the balance should be paid 10 calendar days before the check-in date.

For reservations made less than 30 days before the date of booking - the total rental amount is required to be paid in full.

The balance of the cost of your arrangements (including any applicable surcharge) is due not less than 10 calendar days prior to scheduled departure (unless otherwise specified prior to payment). If we do not receive this balance in full and on time, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled by you in which case the cancellation charges set out in List table:

3. SECURITY DEPOSIT and CORKAGE FEE
A Security deposit is payable directly to Blackwood upon Arrival at the property. The Standard Security Deposit required is Php 2,500 per night. Access to the property may be refused if security deposit is not paid in full.

The Security deposit will normally be refunded upon check-out, after the staff checks the villa and deducting the following:

3A. All additional expenses incurred on the guest’s behalf (additional charged for goods, services and staff which have not been directly paid by the guest, and telephone and internet charges, if applicable) and;

3B. The cost of replacement or repair for any loss or damage to the property or its surrounds or content costs during the rental period. If this cost cannot be reasonable determined prior to the guest’s departure, the owner or the owner’s representative is entitled to withhold a reasonable estimate from the guest’s security deposit, and will return any balance to the guest as soon as possible after the actual cost has been determined.

3C. A corkage fee is the price charged to guests who choose to bring their own Liquor/ wine at the resort. The corkage fee is payable directly to Blackwood upon Arrival at the property. Blackwood charges corkage fee to guests who brings the following:

3C.1. Liquors, wines and spirits
PHP750.00- 5,000 and below worth of alcoholic drinks
PHP1,300- 5,001 and above worth of alcoholic drinks
3C.2. Food/ Big Food Items- 1,500 if guests are bringing food (Snacks are not included)
3C.3. Catering Services- PHP5,000 pesos
3C.4. Event Styling- PHP 3,500
3C.5. Other suppliers for events or parties- PHP5,000.00 per supplier

4. DAMAGES OR LOSSES
Our property is someone’s home. Please treat the property rented accordingly, and leave the property and all it’s contents in good order and in an acceptably clean condition.

Our property observes CLAYGO (Clean as you Go). Any damage or loss caused during the Rental Period, as well as any special cleaning requirement will be the guest’s responsibility and may be charged to the guest’s account and deducted to the guest’s security deposit. In case of excessive or unacceptable loss or damage at any time during the rental period, Blackwood may require the guest and their party, including visitors to vacate the property immediately, without compensation or refund.

5. ACCESS TO PROPERTY
The property and its facilities are available for the guest’s full enjoyment during the rental period. However, the owner, the owner’s representative, or other staff and contractors may need access to the property from time to time (e.g. For maintenance purposes to the house, garden, swimming pool, utilities and services, or, for the purpose of providing additional services requested by the guest, etc.) The guest is required to give them reasonable access to the property for these purposes.

The property is located inside Sierra Madre Hotel and guests would have to pass through their gates to go in and out. Their gates open at 6 AM and close at 6 PM. Guests are expected to check-in between 2PM to 6PM. An Overtime fee of PHP350 will be charged to guests who check-in beyond 6 PM.

6. NUMBER OF GUESTS
The number of persons (adults and children) staying at the property must not exceed the number of sleeping places indicated in the booking confirmation and reservation voucher, unless specifically authorized in writing. Entry or access to the property may be refused or limited where the number of guests exceeds the stated requirement.

Guests are allowed to bring pets but with additional cleaning charge of PHP 1,000 per pet. Guests should declare to the property if they are bringing pets— what kind of pet and how many.

7. USE OF PROPERTY
All bookings are assumed to be for normal holiday purposes only, and the guest agrees that the use of the property will be limited to this purpose, unless otherwise confirmed in writing.

If the guest is planning to hold an event such as wedding or party, which involves having a larger number of people at the property, or if the guest is planning to use the property for a purpose other than the normal holiday, the guest should inform Blackwood at the time of booking, as special approval and arrangements will apply. Depending on the nature of the event, a surcharge of additional security deposit may be required, which will be agreed and confirmed in writing prior to confirming the reservation. The guest acknowledges and agrees that Blackwood, its owners, nor the owner’s representatives will be liable for any further refund of payment to the guest.

8. CUTTING YOUR HOLIDAY SHORT
If you are forced or make the personal choice to return home early, we cannot refund the cost of any travel arrangements you have not used. If you cut short your holiday and return home early in circumstances where you have no reasonable cause for complaint about the standard of the travel services provided, we will not offer you any refund for that part of your tour not completed or be liable for any associated costs you may incur.Depending on the circumstances, your travel Insurance may offer cover for curtailment. It is your responsibility to contact your insurer at this time for their instruction and to obtain any receipts locally that are required for your claim.

9. CONDUCT AND DUE CARE
The property is generally located in a quiet residential neighborhood. The guest is asked to respect this, and ensure that all guests and visitors to the property behave appropriately. Illegal or immoral activities including gambling, prostitution, prohibited drugs, possession or use of pyrotechnics or dangerous goods, and possession or use of firearms and other weapons are all Strictly prohibited.

The guest is responsible for the behavior of the guests staying at the property, as well as visitors to the property during the rental period. Should any guest(s) or visitor(s) not behave in a suitable manner, the owner, the owner’s representative, may in their absolute discretion, require the guest, their party and/or visitors to leave the premises and/or vacate the property immediately without compensation or refund in the interest of safety, due care should be taken at the property at all times, especially with children. Suitable supervision should be given around pools, trail and waterfalls, and when using the property’s facilities.

10. VALUABLES & SECURITY
Any guest valuables of property left or used at the property are at the guest’s own risk. Neither Blackwood, the owner, nor the owner’s representative accepts any responsibility for loss of or damage to guest’s property. The guest is responsible for the property during the rental period and must ensure that all windows and doors are locked securely when not on the premises. Any act or omission by the guest, their party, and/or visitors which may negate or prejudice the property’s insurance policy and/or results in loss or damage is the guest’s responsibility.

11. COMPLAINTS
Every attempt will be made for the guest to have an enjoyable stay. If the guest should have a problem during the rental period, please inform EH who will endeavor to put things right. In order for the guest’s complaint to be addressed, the guest must communicate any problem whilst on location. If no complaint is reported during the rental period, EH will assume that the property was to the guest’s satisfaction and no complaint will be entertained. Self-catering accommodations require that the guest supply all provisions and consumables necessary for daily living,. The staff at the property may accommodate any reasonable requests to purchase provisions on the guest’s behalf, and this will be charged to the guest’s account.

12. NO SHOW
Guest who does not arrive within twelve (12) hours of the check-in date and time of the property will be charged the total rental amount.

13. FORCE MAJEURE
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these Booking Conditions, Blackwood, the owner or the owner’s representative/s, are not obliged to provide a full refund (partial refunds maybe given after deducting unrecoverable costs such as deposits, flight tickets, train tickets, park fees, wildlife permits, visa letters and other) or pay guests any compensation if the contractual obligations to guests are affected by “Force Majeure”.

For the purposes of these Booking Conditions, Force Majeure means any event beyond Blackwood’s or our supplier’s control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken. Examples include warfare and acts of terrorism (and threat thereof), civil strife, significant risks to human health such as the outbreak of serious disease or natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes or weather conditions which make it impossible to travel safely to the travel destination or remain at the travel destination, the act of any government or other national or local authority including port or river authorities, industrial dispute, labour strikes, lock closure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, chemical or biological disaster, unavoidable technical problems with transport and all similar events outside Blackwood or the supplier(s) concerned’s control. Check with your travel insurance provider as you may be able to reclaim these costs.

14. DISCLAIMERS
Blackwood does not accept any responsibility or liability for:Any physical injury, sickness, death, loss, damage, inconvenience, or additional expenses incurred by the guests, their party or visitors regardless of the cause; Any vehicle of the contents of any vehicle used, hired or engaged by the guest or their party during the rental period; Inability of the guest or any member of the guest’s party to enter the location of the property or stay at the property for all or part of the rental period as a result of failure to obtain appropriate travel or other documentation, cancellation or amendments to travel arrangements; and/ or Strife, strike demonstration, terrorist activity (threatened or actual), natural disaster, fire, sickness, weather conditions, action at an airport or port by any government or public authority, technical problems relating to transport and airport regulations caused by technical, mechanical, or electrical breakdowns, or any technical, structural, electrical, plumbing or other problems or difficulties with the property with make it unsafe or unusable or any other circumstances which amount to ‘force majeure’ or Acts of God, or other events beyond the owner’s control.

In no case will Blackwood, the owner or the owner’s representative, individually or collectively, be liable to make any payment or give any refund or compensation of any amount over and above the total rental amount paid.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:
1. We are in the middle of the mountain, so you might notice some fluctuation in electricity. Lights might flicker and fans may have less power at times, but it is normal in our area. You don't have to worry though, Brownout is very rare in Blackwood.
2. We are also trying our best to eliminate insects in Blackwood but please expect that there are still visitors during your stay. We are in Nature after all. Please bring repellant for extra protection.
3. Please observe CLAYGO. Unlike in the Metro, there are no garbage collectors going to Blackwood so we have to make sure we minimize the garbage by implementing CLAYGO. Please bring home Hard plastics, bottles or recyclable trash that you can dispose in your home. Let us all help Mother Nature so She can help us back.
