Terms & Conditions
PAYMENT
DEPOSIT - To secure a booking, a 50% deposit is required at time of booking via credit card, with the balance due and payable 7 days prior to your stay. Credit cards accepted are Mastercard, Visa (2.2% surcharge applies) or Amex (3% surcharge applies). With all EFT (electronic funds transfer) payments, payment must be received and cleared in our bank account before a booking will be confirmed.
BONDS – For Chatelaine a $1,000 refundable bond is required. A 50% portion is taken at time of booking with the balance taken 7 days prior to your stay.
The person making the booking is responsible at all times and will be charged accordingly. Where full payment has not been received for a specified booking 7 days prior, we reserve the right to cancel the booking, with any payments received be forfeited to Mountain Whispers™, and the intended dates released. It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure adequate funds are available on their debit/credit cards to cover the length of their booking, including the bond.
CANCELLATIONS
Where cancellation of a booking is requested, a minimum of 14-days written notice prior to your accommodation commencement date is required to ensure that your payment is returned to you, less $75 administration fee.
Where cancellation of a long-weekend booking is requested, i.e. Easter, Christmas, Labour Day etc., a minimum of 28-days written notice prior to your commencement date is required to ensure that your payment is returned to you, less $75 administration fee.
Where written notice is provided less than 14 days or 28 days for long-weekends, your payment may be forfeited. In these situations, genuine attempts will be made to re-book for the same period of stay and where re-booking can be secured, your payment will then be returned to you, less $75 administration fee (per property). It is highly recommended that travel insurance is purchased to cover your stay to avoid any disappointment. Where you do not arrive, all payments received to confirm your booking will be forfeited to Mountain Whispers™, and the intended dates released.
COVID-19 - Where a cancellation of a booking is made due to COVID-19 related issues and this cancellation falls within the cancellation periods stated above, the accommodation component of the booking will be held in credit towards a future stay (this component is non-refundable). The bond component of the stay will be refunded in full.
CREDIT – Where a booking is held in credit, this credit is non-refundable. Where a booking is held in credit and then assigned a future date, as requested by the guest, this booking is also non-refundable. The 14-day cancellation period does not then apply to the re-assigned dates in credit – the guest is still bound to the terms and conditions of the initial booking.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
Your accommodation commences from the designated check-in time of 1400hrs on the commencement date of your booking and is completed at the designated check-out time strictly of 1000hrs on the departure date of your booking. If a later checkout has been agreed to, this will be reflected in your Guest Letter left for you. Please respect the fact that the property must be cleaned and prepared in the same manner in which it was presented to you for the next group of guests.
So that we can ensure that these standards are met at all times, sufficient time is required to enable us to do this. The cleaner will be at the front door at 10:00am sharp to commence her cleaning, so please ensure that the property is vacated by this time to avoid any embarrassing situations. Alternative times may be mutually arranged if other bookings permit. If, for any reason, you are late in arriving within the period you have booked, the full cost of the entire booked period is payable. No refunds will be made.
MINIMUM BOOKING PERIODS
Minimum booking periods apply. There is a minimum stay of 2 night’s mid-week or weekend with a minimum of 3 nights over long weekends.
CONDITIONS OF STAY
It is a condition of stay that all guests of any Mountain Whispers’ property leave the property in a clean and tidy condition. Great pride and effort is taken in preparing and presenting my Mountain Whispers’ properties for your stay to ensure it is a memorable experience. In return, it is requested that you respect the condition of the property, both internally and externally, and return it, at the end of your stay, in the same state in which it was presented to you.
No furniture whatsoever is to be moved. All kitchen utensils, including crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots and pans are to be cleaned and returned to their appropriate place – a dishwasher is provided at each property.
Please ensure that NO leftovers are left in the fridge/freezer, if you don’t want them, please throw them out. Please ensure that NO leftovers, oil or fat residue is poured down the drain. This has happened in the past and clogged up the drain – plumbing costs are very expensive and this charge will apply to you should a plumber be required to be called out!
Please ensure that NO sanitary items or any other items are flushed down the toilets. Again, should a plumber be required to be called out, this charge will be applied against your bond.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES is the use of strong spices such as curries, ginger, cayenne or cumin to be used when staying at a Mountain Whispers™ property. Other strong cooking odours include fish, cabbage and fats when rendering. The odour of burning food and/or odours of strong spices can permeate throughout the entire property and is a nuisance for the owner and the next group of guests. PLEASE respect the property in which you are staying, that includes your cooking choices. This action interferes with the ability of the Mountain Whispers™property to be released to the next group of guests. These cooking odours are a nuisance in the same way as smoking is classified, therefore should this occur, extensive additional cleaning will need to be undertaken and this charge will be taken from your bond. Where a Mountain Whispers™ property has to be closed down due to this nuisance act, the guest will be charged the daily accommodation rate applicable at the time of the event and for the total number of days that the Mountain Whispers™ property is closed for.
ALL GARBAGE is to be taken out.
Should the BBQ be used, please ensure it is cleaned after use.
Mountain Whispers™ reserves the right to charge guests for any costs of additional cleaning if this condition is not met and/or if additional rooms have been used during your stay (other than the rooms paid for when a booking is made and confirmed). Use of other bedrooms, other than the one requested and paid for, will incur an additional fee of $50 per each room occupied. Where additional cleaning and laundering is required, a $35 per hour (midweek) and $50 per hour (weekend) fee will apply.
SECURITY
All Mountain Whispers™ properties are kept safe and secure by 24/7 back-to-base security alarm monitoring. Should you experience any issues with the alarm at any time during your stay, contact the owner of Mountain Whispers™ 1300 721 321 as a matter of urgency. Should the need arise whereby a security guard has to patrol the property due to the lack of the guest not notifying Mountain Whispers™, a $75 call out fee will apply. This fee is payable by the guest and will be charged accordingly.
ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE & BREAKAGE
We wish our guests to stay in a relaxing atmosphere and free of worry. We acknowledge that accidental breakages can occur during handling of glassware and crockery, however, we advise that where other damage occurs such as to furnishings and fittings, we reserve the right to charge guests with the costs of replacement, repair, cleaning or otherwise bringing furnishings and fittings back to their condition prior to damage. Please be advised that all breakages and/or damage are required to be reported prior to check out.
