Chisholm Cottage is Sisters of Charity Outreach’s affordable, well appointed and maintained accommodation service for country families and individuals who need to stay in Sydney for medical appointments and hospital stays. The Cottage is located in Westmead (two minutes by rail from Parramatta) in western Sydney, is less than 1km from the busy Westmead Hospital campus, and is open 365 days of the year.
Chisholm Cottage has four, separate, secure bedrooms – a double, a twin room (two single beds) and two family rooms (each for up to four guest). Guests share two large, clean bathrooms and a fully-functional communal kitchen and relaxing TV lounge, where they can prepare their own meals (food self- supplied) and enjoy the company of other guests and staff.
Chisholm Cottage is managed by a live–in accommodation manager and staffed by a team of friendly, fully-trained volunteers, all of whom have passed Police and Working with Children checks.•
Room rates are: $60 per night for the double or twin room (max 2 guests each) and $80 per night for the Family Rooms. Please note: while we welcome adults without children, we do not allow more than two adults per room. Chisholm Cottage is a smoke and alcohol-free environment.

CHISHOLM COTTAGE BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Thank you for choosing to stay at Chisholm Cottage. We look forward to welcoming you to our home away from home. By making this booking, you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.
BOOKING & CONFIRMATION
1. Chisholm Cottage accommodation is intended for guests who are travelling from regional areas to receive or support family members receiving medical treatment or who are requiring hospital admissions. By making this booking you confirm that you meet this service requirement.
2. To make a booking, a Reservation Form must be completed – either online or over the phone by one of our office staff. The Reservation Form will require the collection of specific customer information such as name, contact details and may include credit card details if required.
3. The person submitting a booking request is deemed to have accepted the booking terms and conditions on behalf of all persons named in the booking reservation.
4. Bookings will not be confirmed until the initial payment deposit is received as per the schedule below:
- bookings of three nights or less: payment for the first night’s accommodation.
- bookings of four to seven nights: payment for first two night’s accommodation. - bookings of eight nights or more: payment for first three night’s accommodation.
5. Guests experiencing financial hardship should discuss this matter with Chisholm Cottage Management at the time of booking. Alternative payment arrangements may be considered under special circumstances and will be at the discretion of Chisholm Cottage Management.
6. Guests who are eligible under the Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme (IPTAAS) are asked to provide this information at the time of booking wherever possible.
7. Your booking will be confirmed within 48 hours of completing the booking and making the deposit payment. Confirmation may be sent by email, fax or post.
PRICING
8. Prices for accommodation vary depending on the room required and number of persons staying.
9. Additional charges to the nightly room rate may apply for additional goods and services such as telephone calls, cots, laundry services and any food services provided.
PAYMENT
10. All payments can be made by credit card (Visa & MasterCard), cash or by bank transfer.
11. The balance for bookings is payable on arrival.
CANCELLATION
12. Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to your scheduled check-in will incur a cancellation fee.
13. The cancellation fee for bookings up to 7 nights will be equivalent to one night’s accommodation.
14. The cancellation fee for bookings of 8 nights or more will be equivalent to two night’s accommodation.
15. Waiver of the cancellation fee may be considered under special circumstances at the discretion of Chisholm Cottage management.
CHECK IN & CHECK OUT
16. Check in time is 2pm.
17. Early check in is subject to availability. We understand that many of our guests travel long distances and we will undertake to have a room available as soon as possible on your arrival. If we cannot arrange a room prior to the normal check in time, guests are welcome to wait in our common lounge/dining area. We request that you let us know your estimated time of arrival wherever practicable.
18. If you expect to arrive after 8:00pm please let us know so we can ensure you have access to the property.
19. Under some circumstances, Chisholm Cottage Management may, with notice, relocate guests to another room during their stay.
20. Check out time is 10:00am.
21. Late check out is subject to availability. We will endeavour to work with you to extend check out time or to find a suitable alternative prior to departure wherever possible.
PETS
22. Unfortunately, Chisholm Cottage is unable to accommodate pets inside the house or anywhere on the property under any circumstances.
CHILDREN
23. We welcome families with children of any ages. Chisholm cottage can provide travel cots on request for a small extra fee.
24. Guests with children must ensure they are appropriately supervised at all times.
SMOKING
25. Chisholm Cottage is a smoke free facility. Smoking is not permitted inside the house or in public areas.
26. The fire safety system will alarm if smoke is detected inside the house. You may be asked to vacate the premises and forfeit any monies paid if the fire detection system is activated as a result of smoking inside Chisholm Cottage.
ALCOHOL, & ILLICIT DRUGS
27. Chisholm Cottage is an alcohol free facility. Guests are not permitted to consume alcohol in guest rooms or public areas of the cottage.
28. No illicit drugs are permitted to be stored or consumed at Chisholm Cottage. Non-compliance with this condition will result in referral to the Police and a forfeit of any monies paid.
GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING
29. Food and drinks (other than water) should not be stored or consumed in rooms.
30. Guests are required to clean up after using the kitchen, dining and other common areas.
INFECTION CONTROL
31. Guests who have or develop suspected or confirmed cases of contagious illness must notify Chisholm Cottage Management immediately and may be asked to vacate the cottage if there is a risk of cross infection to other residents and workers.
32. It is the responsibility of guests to ensure that any potentially infectious items are handled and disposed of safely.
BEHAVIOUR & NOISE
33. Chisholm cottage is a family friendly environment. Guests are asked to respect the rights of other guests and keep noise to a minimum, particularly between the hours of 9:30pm and 8:30am.
34. Aggressive behaviour, offensive language or obscene gestures will not be tolerated at any time.
35. Guests must ensure they are appropriately dressed at all times when in common areas of the cottage. Offensive and/or excessively revealing clothing should not be worn. Guests are asked to wear shoes or slippers at all times for safety reasons.
36. Only registered guests are permitted to stay at the cottage overnight.
DAMAGES & BREAKAGES
37. You are responsible and liable for any breakages/damage you cause to the property or its contents. We understand that accidents happen and encourage you to report any damage/breakages when they occur. We won’t usually charge for minor breakages, but we may charge you if the breakage or damage is significant.
LIABILITY
38. We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to you or any registered guest or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our workers whilst acting in the course of their duties.
PRIVACY
39. Any data collected during the course of this booking will be stored securely in accordance with Privacy Law. With your permission, we may from time to time contact you with news of Chisholm Cottage. We will not share your details with any third party without your express permission.

Payment Policy
