Surrounded by a hectare of lush farmland, Heritage Listed Corbett House is a tranquil home away from home. Built in the early 1920’s, this Heritage category B Arts and Crafts style home, truly celebrates a bygone era. Your hosts, Anja & David Corbett, are proud to share their historic family home with its guests. Your comfort is their biggest concern and they offer a warm, personalised service, providing rooms with comfort and relaxation in mind. 

This extensive property is surrounded by beautiful specimen trees including native kauri, rimu and titoki with many trees over 95 years old. A charming house, built on two levels has a warm welcome awaiting our guests. The large private section attracts a large number of native birdlife including kaka, tui and wood pigeon. The totally private back section of the property has a large verandah where our guests can choose to relax and enjoy the extensive views of the paddocks where our flock of Awapawa sheep graze. We also have a busy brood of free range hens supplying us with eggs.

Corbett House has recently gone through a change of ownership. David and Anja Corbett are thrilled to see Corbett House once more being owned by the Corbett Family.

All our bookings include a full cooked or continental breakfast. Our breakfast room has french doors which lead onto the back verandah, which is flooded with the early morning sun. This is the ideal place to sit and enjoy the views overlooking the beautiful gardens and grazing sheep in the surrounding paddocks.

Corbett House is perfectly situated as the hub for your next weekend getaway. There are so many things to see and explore in the local area including cycle trails, beaches, historic walk ways and many great dinning experiences.

This twin share package of two nights with full cooked breakfasts and 1x shuttle.

Come and enjoy a two night stay at our heritage homestead. We offer a one way shuttle, secure car parking and bike storage with charging facilities. Stay your first night in our largest room, the Kauri room with ensuite. In the morning after a scrumptious cooked breakfast, your host David will shuttle you and your bikes to a drop off point on the trail either at Waihi, Te Aroha, Paeroa, Thames or Kaiaua. After you ride back to Corbett House enjoy some refreshments or a platter (see below for details) in our historic homestead or picturesque gardens. Our swimming pool and cedar hot tub are also available to soak those tired muscles. In the evening you can also enjoy the ambience of the billiard room with a game of pool or snooker (or challenge David to a game). Also enjoy a wine or beer on our upstairs balcony watching the sunset.

This package is for two couples (four people) and includes two rooms (The Kauri & Rimu) both with private bathrooms. This package is for two nights with full cooked breakfasts and 1x shuttle.

Enjoy our Rail Trail package with another couple and receive an additional discount. Our converted trailer can carry four bikes or e-bikes with ease. The second couple will stay in the Rimu room which has a super king bed, and private bathroom. As we only offer two bedrooms for hire, with this package you are only guests staying in the house.

Terms & Conditions

Covid 19 Terms and Conditions:
It is important that we provide our guests, staff, and visitors, with a
safe environment to enjoy our bed and breakfast
​- We are not able to socially distance ourselves easily and we are also in regular contact with more vulnerable relatives. We ask that you consider your vaccination status before making a booking with us. This is to protect ourselves and any guests who may also be staying. You are in good health on arrival. If you are unwell on the arrival day, please ring us and we will negotiate a refund or change of date. ( based on a covid diagnosis) You will not be permitted to stay on the premises if you are showing any signs of illness.. ( this will be reassessed on an ongoing basis.)

Corbett House Bed and Breakfast reserves the right to restate its position as we learn and understand more about how NZ manages the fight against Covid-19 in our community.

We expect all guests to make themselves aware of our terms and conditions as a condition of entry to our property and that they will abide by said terms and conditions.
We are a Fully vaccinated establishment and we have implemented these measure to protect the health and safety of ourselves as well as any guests who are sharing our home.
Our establishment will NOT provide accommodation to people who wish to use it for self isolation upon returning to New Zealand or for anyone coming into New Zealand from overseas, for the purposes of self isolation. This also includes any person or persons in New Zealand currently.

Deposit:
50% deposit is required to secure your booking and payable prior to arrival.
No refund of deposit if booking is cancelled less than one week before your stay, unless this is directly related to a Covid event.

Rates:
All rates are quoted in New Zealand Dollars on a per night basis and include GST of 15%. All accounts must be settled directly with Corbett House Bed & Breakfast in New Zealand Dollars. Reservation via the phone will require full customer and credit card details. Payment will be taken in full at the time of arrival via an approved method of payment (Cash, Visa, MasterCard or Eftpos).

Arrival and Departure Times:
Check in time is strictly from 3pm. We may have guests checking out on your arrival date and we need the time to do a thorough room clean. If you arrive before 3pm your room may not be available. Check out time is by 11am.
Subject to the motel status on the day of departure, late check-out may be available, please check with reception should you require this facility. There may be a charge applied for a late check out.

Late Check-in:
All Guests are required to check in by 7pm. If you are unable to check in by 7pm, please phone us on +64 07 8624753 to arrange your arrival. Guests that do not contact us will be charged a late check-in fee of $50.00.

CHILDREN CANNOT BE ACCOMMODATED. Age restriction 16 years and over.
There is no capacity for extra beds in any of the rooms.

Guests must book at least two days in advance of booking.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:
Please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements when you make a booking so that we can have suitable food available,
Guest please be aware that as a Bed and Breakfast we don't allow guests the use of our kitchen for cooking or reheating of food.
We can provide DINNER PLATTER OPTIONS, which will have to be ordered at the time of booking or 48 hours prior to check in or whatever comes first.
There are good restaurants and other eating establishments both in Thames and Paeroa.
The local Pioneer tavern in Hikutaia has recently been sold and won't be available for meals for the foreseeable future, as far as we are aware. We will update our website once we know when and if they are planning to reopen.
