The Darlala Motel offers air conditioned accommodation in Ngukurr and is nestled on top of a ridge with spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The location provides a magnificent sunset vista.
The township of Ngukurr is located on the Roper River in South East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. It is situated 650 kms south east of Darwin via Katherine which is the closest regional centre some 310 kms away via the Stuart and Roper Highways.
The Darlala Motel is an economic development project of the Yugul Mangi Development Aboriginal Corporation under the direction of the leaders of the seven clans of Ngukurr. It forms part of the Yugul Mangi people’s aspirations to move away from government and welfare dependency. As guests you will be supporting the Yugul Mangi people’s aspirations.
As an Indigenous community run accommodation motel we ask all visitors to respect our country, place, motel rooms, culture and people. The staff of the motel are local residents and will go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful experience, however, we ask that you remember where you are, that the motel is run by the community, to respect the cultural differences and to leave your western expectations and demands behind.

Note: The Ngkurr Community is a DRY Community. Alcohol bans are In place.
Please be sure to review and follow the laws before entering the community.
Check-in times are 2pm-5pm, check-in's outside these hours are by arrangement only.
Check-out time is by 10am, unless prior arrangements have been made.

Due to government regulations, there is NO SMOKING in any rooms or public area. For this reason the building is a NO SMOKING area, we kindly ask you to smoke away from the building until we are able to establish a dedicated smoking area in the near future. Penalties do apply for non-compliance.
We have a strict NO PETS policy.
We ask you to be mindful of the RED DIRT and try to minimise the amount that you carry into the room and distribute onto the floors, walls, furniture, linen and bed. LEAVE YOUR SHOES AT THE DOOR. Please remember that the Darlala Motel is part of the Yugul Mangi Development Aboriginal Corporation and as such is a community run organisation, at all times please respect our place, our rooms and our people.
Guests must provide credit card details to cover any costs incurred. Management will use this to cover any outstanding fees. If the final account is not paid upon check-out by the guest the credit card provided will be charged.
A $200 cleaning charge will apply if a room is left in an unsatisfactory state (i.e. smoking in room, food not placed in bins, red dirt marks, condition other than would normally expect, etc).
Non-essential call-outs to rooms after 6.30pm will be charged a $50 call out fee.
I agree that my liability for the bill is not waived and agree to be held personally liable in the event that the indicated person, Company or Association fails to pay for any part of the full amount of these charges.
ACCOMMODATION PROVIDERS ACT (section 6 (2)) – Loss of or Damage to Guests Property
(a) Extends only to the property of guests who have engaged a room for sleeping;
(b) Is limited to $200 to any one guest in the case of property which has been deposited, or offered for deposit, for safekeeping; and
(c) Does not cover motor vehicles or other vehicles of any kind or property used in connection with a vehicle.
In case of fire please use the evacuation plan on the back of your door for exits of the property.
Payment is by credit card authority at the time of booking and payment will be processed on check-out and a tax invoice will be emailed.

Cancellation requires 24 hours notice. Any cancellations made within 24 hours of arrival will be charged at the full room rate for one night.
All group bookings requires 72 hours notice. Any cancellations made within 72 hours of arrival may be charged at the full room rate for the entire booking.
Long stays are subject to a different cancellation policy. Be sure to confirm this at the time of booking.
