Derwent Bridge is a small settlement in Tasmania's Central Highlands, only 5 km (3 mls) from the visitor services area at Cynthia Bay, Lake St. Clair, which is adjacent to the southern boundary of the Cradle Mountain – Lake St. Clair National Park.
Located on the Lyell Highway (A10) – and being close to the states geographical centre (the Bull’s Eye of Tasmania perhaps?), the village is the halfway point on the drive between Hobart & Strahan, Cradle Mountain & Hobart, the East & West Coast. An ideal location to break a long journey, or spend a few days to just relax, well away from the maddening crowds.
Awarded TripAdvisors “Certificate of Excellence”, Derwent Bridge Chalets & Studios are a 3½ star, self-catering accommodation property for singles, couples, families and groups, set in a quiet location looking on to an attractive snow gum forest. We offer spa, chalet and studio accommodation all with separate ensuites, kitchen/kitchenette, with undercover parking or off street parking. Continental breakfast is available and if you wish to dine out, we are within easy walking distance of the local hotel, just 700m from the property.

Situated near the southern end of the Overland Track in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, our property is the perfect place to rest in comfort after the long walk, to soak your tired muscles and enjoy a relaxing sleep in the comfort of this well appointed property.

Deposits:
When you make a booking with Derwent Bridge Chalets & Studios you will be required to secure the booking with a 50% deposit at the time of booking with the balance payable on arrival.
How to pay your deposit:
• Credit Card (Mastercard, Visa or Amex): You can book and pay via our secure, on-line reservations system or alternatively email, phone, or fax your details.
• Money Orders should be made payable to Derwent Bridge Chalets & Studios and posted to Locked PB4444, New Norfolk TAS 7140.
• Direct Deposits: Please contact us for bank account details.
• Once your deposit has been received, we will send a confirmation email.

Payment Policy

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations:
• Deposits (less an $AU25 administration fee) will be refunded if 10 days notice of cancellation is given prior to the arrival date.
• 21 days notice is required to be given prior to the arrival date for the period 1 December – 31 March.
• Non-arrivals will forfeit any monies paid and remaining nights may be re-sold.
• All cancellations should be in writing.
Refunds:
Deposits (less $AU25 administration fee) will only be refunded if notice of cancellation is received at least 10 days from the first night of the booking. (21 days, 1 December – 31 March.)
General:
• An additional cleaning fee up to $50 may be charged where accommodation is left in an excessively dirty state, or where guests choose not to wash, clean or dry their used dishes prior to departure. Wilful damage will be charged.
• Check-in: From 3pm
• Checkout: By 10am

• We do not have check-ins or checkouts on Christmas Day.

• Derwent Bridge Chalets & Studios is a non-smoking property and as such smoking is not permitted inside the accommodation.

• We reserve the right to debit any charges incurred for the non letting of the accommodation, together with any cleaning costs required to correct the problem.

• The property has a no pet policy.
