Property Information
Flour Cask Bay Retreat is a solar powered eco-retreat on 200 acres situated on rolling hills near the south coast of Kangaroo Island.
The retreat offers panoramic views and a real wildlife experience. Bush walking around the property enables viewing of many varieties of wildflowers and wildlife. Kangaroos and wallabies can be seen from your balcony early morning or dusk. During the day you may see goannas or echidnas, or enjoy watching the many native birds, ranging from wrens to wedge-tailed eagles.
Near road access to the secluded beach at Flour Cask Bay, beautiful and rugged coastline awaits offering inspiration for photography or painting, fishing, beachcombing or exploring the rockpools.
Flour Cask Bay Retreat is ideally situated as a base from which you can explore all of Kangaroo Island or just sit back and enjoy the seclusion.
Each of our self-contained units has a queen size bed, full size refrigerator, kitchen facility, dining area. Each unit exits onto the sheltered veranda with café style seats and table, and Weber Baby-Q bbq.
Please Note: we do not cater breakfast or other meals.

Please note: Minimum reservation required of 3 nights, maximum 2 persons per room.
Maximum stay is 30 nights unless written authorisation is granted by management.
In the interests of providing the best level of accommodation, after receiving the initial reservation we will make a room closure on the night prior to arrival and on the night of departure to allow for cleaning. If you wish to change or extend the dates of your reservation, please contact us by email so that the room closure can be removed.
Government issued photo-identification and a current credit card are required at check-in for incidental charges.
Meals: Meals are not included in the standard room price.
Animals: No pets allowed excepting service animals.
If service animal is accompanying guest then official photographic Service Animal Status Card is required to be forwarded to bookings.fcbr@gmail.com when making reservation and also presented at check-in.
Special requests are subject to availibility upon check-in and may incur incidental charges.
Flour Cask Bay Retreat is a free range area for idigenous and endangered wildlife, and adjoins approximately 1000 acres of native scrub and bushland. Animals such as kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, goannas, snakes and birdlife which frequent the property are wild animals. Flour Cask Bay Retreat and its proprietors accept no responsibility for the actions of idigenous wildlife and request that guests maintain a safe distance and avoid direct interaction with animals.
Guests are requested not to venture onto adjoining farmalnd and respect the boundaries & practices of local farms and communities.
We hope guests will take the time to relax and enjoy the sights, attractions and wildlife of this very peaceful part of Australia.
Payment Policy
Full payment required at time of reservation.
Cancellation Policy
Effective from 24 December 2016, if reservation is cancelled or modified up to 7 days before arrival, a cancellation fee of 30% of the total price of reservation will be charged.
If cancelled or modified less than 7 days before date of arrival or in case of no-show, 100 per cent of the total price of reservation will be charged.
No refund for early check-out.
For reservations made prior to 24 December 2016, cancellations and modifications will be honoured as per the policy at the time of booking.
We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a customer has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity, or under other circumstances where it appears that the reservation contains or resulted from a mistake or error.
We reserve the right to waive any cancellation fees either in part or in full at our discretion.
