Redgum Log Cottage Standard

Redgum Log Cottage Standard Book

As you arrive at the Redgum Log Cottage you will feel its welcome and know you have arrived at a unique and beautiful place for you to relax and experience the kind of rural escape you’ll always remember.

This hand built cottage has arisen from many recycled and restored materials such as redgum log slabs saved from the forestry, pine kitchen cupboards of New Zealand kauri pine found in the old St Arnaud Flour Mill. Even the sunburst on the Range Hood comes from an Australian built 1925 H.V.McKay, ‘Sunshine’ grain harvester.

The first thing you may notice of the Mudbrick Cottage is the how naturally this earth formed structure nestles into its natural Australian bush setting.

Upon entering this cottage the warm and welcoming feeling prompts many guests (especially honeymooners) to just soak up the ambiance, enjoy the open fire, and dream overlooking the beautiful views of expansive hills and plains.

Even the century old red bricks in this striking cottage have many stories to tell, and as you relax into your stay you will discover even more tales these lovingly saved and restored building materials can share with you. That’s if you actually move away from the open fire, or aren’t lost in the beautiful views.

Stone Cottage Standard

Stone Cottage Standard Book

As you enter this cottage you can feel the sense of history derived from all salvaged and saved building materials such as the leadlight windows from an old homestead and restored to feature either side of the fireplace.

Even the dining table and chairs originate from a Methodist Church built in 1865, and the main pole supporting the loft was saved from the Seppelts Winery, Great Western.

The Stone Cottage is tucked away at the end of the property, leaving you with a private retreat and has a large loft bedroom creating more space for you to relax or bring friends and family to stay.
