Terms & Conditions
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT:
Arrival check-in on the Island is from 2:00pm and check-out is by 10:00am on the departure day.
CAR PARKING / ACCESS TO THE ISLAND:
Parking is available at Noosa Marina, please note this is unsecured public outdoor parking. Car access is not available onto the Island if self-driving. Makepeace Island's boat will collect you from Noosa Marina to transfer you to the Island. Arrival to the Island on your own boat is not permitted.
VALIDITY OF RATES:
We reserve the right to amend rates should the cost of services increase beyond our control.
LOSS, DAMAGE, INJURY:
Whilst Makepeace Island takes the upmost care, the company and staff do not take responsibility for loss of a guest’s property, or personal injury. Guests and their visitors are responsible for loss or damage of property belonging to them and for the damage or loss of property belonging to the property during their stay, your own safety and that of your guests.
Smoking is not allowed in or around the buildings, boats, bedrooms and other island structures (adequate outside areas are however provided).
NOISE, PARTIES & BEHAVIOUR:
Makepeace Island is for registered guests only. The property is to be used for short term residential accommodation only, parties and events are not permitted. The property may not be used for any commercial purpose or function without the permission of Makepeace Island. Makepeace Island reserves the right to evict guests without refund that breech the noise restrictions and no party policy.
We strongly advise that clients take out comprehensive travel insurance to mitigate any loss as a result of cancellations, medical emergencies and not being able to use the Island for the services they have contracted for.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Queensland and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland; save that the Company shall be entitled to enforce the agreement against the client in any other country in which the client is resident, domiciled or has a place of business.

Upon reservation confirmation you will be invoiced the deposit or full amount of the stay. Remittance of payment will confirm reservation and the reservation will remain tentative until confirmation of payment is received.
A binding contract will be formed when Makepeace Island confirms the booking, which it will do on receipt of the deposit. Makepeace Island reserves the right to withdraw, change, cancel or reallocate the accommodation and the arrival date at its discretion until the booking is confirmed. Clients must submit requests for variations by email to Makepeace Island.
Balance or payment must be made in full 60 days prior to the date of arrival. For bookings made within 60 days of travel, payment must be received within 48 hours of booking. A booking, is not validated until full payment is received and Makepeace Island confirms acceptance in writing.
PRE-ARRIVAL DEPOSITS FOR SECURITY BOND OR CLIENT REQUESTED EXTRA SERVICES:
You acknowledge and accept that a bond is required to be paid no later than 14 days prior to your arrival. This acts as both a security bond and for coverage of any extra services utilized during your stay.
The value of the bond will be:
a. $AUD 2,000.00 per stay for groups of less than 10 guests,
b. $AUD 5,000.00 per stay for groups of 10 or more guests.
Upon arrival at Makepeace Island a pre-authorization of your credit card is also required and all accounts must be settled prior to your departure from the Island. Further payments may be required if there is loss or damage or additional services exceeding the bond amount. If additional expenses are less than the bond amount, the difference will be refunded to you.
Any cancellation of reservations by the client must be provided in writing to Makepeace Island via email and are subject to payment of the cancellation fees set out below and will be effective only upon written acknowledgement by Makepeace Island.
• 90 Days prior to arrival, Makepeace Island will refund the deposit paid or a full refund of monies will be paid where applicable.
• Between 90 days and 61 days prior to arrival, Makepeace Island will retain or charge the full deposit (being 30% of the accommodation charge) as the cancellation fee.
• Between 60 days and 31 days prior to arrival, a charge of 50% of the booking cost is the cancellation fee.
• 30 days prior to arrival a charge of 100% of the booking cost is the cancellation fee.
No refunds can or will be given in connection with circumstances arising beyond the reasonable control of Makepeace Island i.e. flight delays by airlines/contracted charter companies or client failure to appear for accommodation. No refund can be given for any unused services or early departures.
