Property Information
Miena Village is located in the Central Highlands of Tasmania at the junction of Highland Lakes Road and the Marlborough Highway on the shores of the Great Lake. The Central Highlands landscape consists of mountain peaks rising from button grass plains and during winter (and sometimes summer), snow settles across the landscape transforming the whole region.
Miena Village Boat Hire based at the Great Lake General Store. Our boats are designed and built in the United Kingdom for loch style fishing and are ideal for Tasmania’s shallow smooth water lakes. They were purchased for use in the 2019 World Fly Fishing Championships that were held in the Lakes and Rivers of Tasmania. Each boat is of fiberglass construction, has floatation tanks and is ideal for two or three anglers. They are powered by a six horsepower Suzuki motor and come provided with all safety equipment, including life jackets, oars, buoyancy ring and fire extinguisher. The minimum requirement is that the boat driver must have a valid Australian boat licence and be over the age of 18. Bookings are essential, particularly in the summer months and our boats can be hired out for the day or for multiple days
