Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions of Occupancy

By signing the following, you (“You” or “Your”) agree to the terms and conditions of occupancy at all villas in the Romantic Retreats Collection as set forth below by Romantic Retreats Pty Limited (“RR”).

1. Failure to Pay

You agree to be held personally liable in the event that any person, group, company or association fails to pay all or part of any charges incurred under your account (“Shortfall”) and RR may charge your credit or debit card the amount of such Shortfall.

2. Damage to Resort Property

RR may charge you the cost of rectifying damage to its property, structure or contents that has been caused by you or any person for whom you are responsible for supervision and care. Should damage to the property be discovered after your departure, RR may charge the repair cost to your credit or debit card, or send an invoice for the cost of repair to your registered address.

3. Removal of Resort Property

RR reserves the right to charge you the cost of replacing any items that are removed from the premises by you without its consent. The charge will be the full replacement cost of the missing item, including any carriage charges. Should the fact that the item is missing be discovered after your departure, RR may charge your credit or debit card, or send an invoice to you for the replacement cost to Your registered address.

4. Cleaning Charges

RR may charge a cleaning fee to your debt or credit card where, in its opinion, the area of occupancy has been left in a unsatisfactory state of cleanliness.

5. Lost or Damaged Property

Should you lose any belongings during your stay or incur any damage to your property, RR will not be liable except to the extent to which the provisions of the Travellers Accommodation Providers (Liability) Act 2001 (QLD) would apply, a copy of which is available at reception and in your accommodation unit.

If RR’s staff or employees find any lost property, RR will make every reasonable effort to locate the owner and return the property to him or her. However, if RR cannot locate the owner and an item is not reclaimed within three (3) months of its discovery it will be disposed of by RR in its absolute discretion.

We have a unique eco-waste system installed on the property and damage to this is very costly to repair. Please dispose of ALL sanitary items in the bins provided; any costs incurred due to damage caused to the system through sanitary/foreign items being flushed will be your responsibility. A bidet has been installed for your personal hygiene and to assist reducing the use of toilet paper.

6. Personal Injury

RR takes no responsibility and accepts no liability for any injury suffered by you or any person for whom you are responsible for supervision and care while on RR’s premises.

You hereby release RR from all claims, losses, damages or expenses that may be incurred by you as a result of the negligence of RR or its employees, agents or contractors.

7. Health & Safety

You agree to read the booklet provided to you on commencement of your occupancy, as it supplies You important information regarding health and safety procedures and the location of fire extinguishers on RR’s premises.

8. Governing Law

I agree that the above list of terms and conditions forms an agreement that is governed by the laws of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia.

9. Charges/Cancellation

The rates are as charged on your invoice at the time of booking and there will be a linen fee of $100 for each booking.
Our policy at Romantic Retreats is exclusive occupation of one couple and their guests (max 2) for the entire retreat, therefore should you cancel your booking for any reason your deposit will not be refunded. You do, with a minimum of 8-weeks notice have the opportunity to transfer your booking to another date within a 6 months period (dependent on availability). Travel insurance is recommended as we cannot take responsibility for bad weather or unforeseen circumstances.

11. Smoking, Pets & Parties

All villas are strictly no smoking inside the property and we ask you leave your pets at home as they are not permitted. Parties and non-booked guests are not permitted under any circumstances, should you require to have additional guests please advise arrange prior to check in as there maybe additional charges with Sharon on 0408 903104.

10. Payment

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure dates and the balance is to be received by either direct deposit or will be charged to the credit card (Visa/MasterCard only incurs a 3% handling fee) supplied two weeks prior to your stay. A security bond of $1,000 is required and will be run on your credit card in the days leading up to your arrival.
