Terms & Conditions

FISHING RULES (October-June)
PLEASE ADVISE ON BOOKING THAT YOU INTEND TO FISH THE RIVER. FISHING ON THE MOFFAT FALLS PRIVATE STREAMS FROM THE COTTAGE AND LODGE IS ONLY AVAIALBE WITH A GUIDE.
1 Our streams are strictly fly-fishing only and catch-and-release only. No bait or lures are to be used. If you wish to spin fish, we can direct you to other streams to do so.
2 To maximise fish survival upon release, it is preferable that fish remain in the water while removing the fly, therefore it is essential you carry a small landing net to achieve this without handling the fish too much. This way the fish can be left in the net, in the water while the fly is removed, then allowed to swim away with minimal handling. We have a number of mature breeding females who need to be handled very gently to avoid death through stress.
3 If lifting the fish for a quick photo, hold the fish parallel to the ground and support it under the belly. Lift it out of the water for absolute minimum time possible.
