Terms & Conditions

So that you experience the very best that Mt Hay Retreat has to offer, we have developed the following policies and guidelines which we respectfully request that you adhere to before, during and after your stay. Should you require more information, please don't hesitate to ask.
Smoking: We have a strict no smoking policy. A sanitisation fee of $1000 will be charged where smoking occurs.
Please note that Mt Hay Retreat is exclusively for the enjoyment of guests aged 18 and over.
Additional guests: Unless otherwise specified, all accommodation and rates quoted are based on double occupancy only.
Pets and animals: Due to the fragile nature of our environment here at Mt Hay, guests are not permitted to bring pets onto the property.
Communications and privacy: If you contact us by email, fax, standard mail or through this website, you agree to allow us to contact you in the future with promotional material regarding upcoming events, special offers or general information. Should you wish to opt out, please let us know and we will not contact you again. We will never use your name and information for any other purpose, nor provide it to any other party without your prior permission or where legally obliged to do so.
Damages, breakages and antisocial behaviour: You are liable for any damage/breakage caused by you or those invited to the property by you. We don’t normally charge for small accidental damage, but all other incidents will be charged to your bill. Please alert us to any damage as soon as possible so that we can make the appropriate repairs.
Additional cleaning: A cleaning fee of $200 will automatically apply if excess cleaning is required for any reason.
Personal property: Unfortunately no responsibility can or will be taken for any loss or damage to personal property.
These policies are subject to change without notice.

Payment Policy

All bookings must be secured with a 50% deposit - MasterCard (1.5% fee) , Visa (1.5% fee), Amex (2.5%) or Bank Transfer (no fee).

The outstanding amount payable on your account must be paid on or before arrival.

Prices quoted are effective immediately and are subject to change without notice.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellation requests must be in writing – e.g. letter or email and a receipt of cancellation issued.

Cancellations within 7 days of arrival will forfeit 50% of the total cost of your stay; within 48 hours of arrival will forfeit 100% of the total cost of your stay.

Whilst all attempts will be made to resell your room, you remain liable for the costs of your total accommodation booking.

Should you fail to arrive on the scheduled day of your reservation, your room will be held until the following day in case you have been unforeseeably delayed and are unable to contact us. Should you not arrive the next day your reservation will be cancelled and the total accommodation charge will be applied.

Changes to additional pre-booked services such as massages require 48 hours notice. Changes made within 48 hours will incur a cancellation charge.
