Mystery Bay Cottages is a hidden gem on the south coast of NSW – only footsteps away from Eurobodalla National Park and Billy’s Beach. With views to the majestic Gulaga (Mount Dromedary), the 32-acre property offers private and relaxing stays, surrounded by nature. Bushwalks, ocean swims, bike rides, snorkelling and star gazing are all on your doorstep.

The property adjoins Billy’s Beach, where you can discover 500-million-year-old rock formations, and view Montague Island. You can also enjoy the proximity of Mystery Bay Beach and Loaders Beach, both of which are a 10-minute walk away. Visit the two ocean lookouts on your walk around the headland to Corunna Lake.

With lush countryside, more than 80 pristine beaches and unspoiled coastline, Eurobodalla National Park is an ecological wonder. See whales and nearly 100 species of birds, to name just a few of the abundant wildlife.

There are three types of holiday accommodation, from architecturally designed cottages to cabins and glamping. The cottages are comfortably spacious and self-catering. They feature raked ceilings and full kitchens, plus wood fires for cosy winter nights. The cabins are smaller and ideal for singles, couples and young families. For an elevated camping experience try our glamping, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities, and hot showers under the stars.

Mystery Bay Cottages is conveniently located between two towns:
Tilba
Take a left-hand turn onto the Princes Highway for a five-minute drive to Central Tilba. The heritage village is home to one of the South Coast’s oldest pubs, Dromedary Hotel (“the Drom” to locals), famous fudge at Central Tilba General Store, award-winning cheeses from Tilba Dairy and other great shops to explore. On Saturday mornings, pick up fresh produce at the local market in the Big Hall, then head further into the forest for lunch at Tilba Valley Winery & Ale House. For creative cocktails later in the day, stop at Sweetwater – a smokehouse, bar and grill all in one.

Narooma
Or, take a right-hand turn and ten minutes later arrive at the small beach town of Narooma, where you can get all your supplies. Enjoy the local oysters and exceptional piña coladas at Quarterdeck, which overlooks the turquoise water of Wagonga Inlet. Hire an electric bike to explore the region; the Oyster Farmer’s Daughter is a great lunch stop. Spot seals at Bar Rock Lookout and Australia Rock, or take a 20-minute boat ride to Montague Island to snorkel with them. From here you can head out for whale watching or take an evening tour to get up close to the island’s famous colony of Little Penguins.

While you’re in this unique corner of the globe, don’t miss the Eurobodalla Food Trail for the ultimate paddock-to-plate experience, and the Blue Pool at Bermagui. Then there’s Mimosa Wines on the Sapphire Coast.

We have 6 architecturally designed cottages that have 2 bedrooms, one queen and one twin. Each cottage can accommodate up to 5 people. Our cottages are self-catering, offering a full kitchen, bathroom and spacious living space with racked ceilings. They are ideal for holidays with families and friends in summer and winter (warmed by a wood fire). The balconies offer stunning country and mountain views, and secluded Billy’s Beach is only 5- minutes walk away.

We have 3 well-designed cabins. Each cabin can accommodate up to 4 people. We call them cosy cabins because they are smaller than our cottages. They have one queen room and a small bunk room, primarily for young children. There is a combined living and cooking space, with a straight-line kitchen (fridge, 2 hot plates and microwave), small table, a 2-seater couch and a balcony with mountain and country views. Authors often hire these cabins for writing retreats.

Terms & Conditions

Booking Terms & Conditions & Cancellation Policy

When booking at Mystery Bay Cottages, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to comply with our Terms and Conditions, Payment Policy and Cancellation Policy.

Damage & Behaviour

Although Mystery Bay Cottages does not require a security deposit, should any damage beyond fair wear and tear be caused to the property, or should it be necessary to conduct additional cleaning at the end of your stay, the cost will be charged to you. Guests will be notified on claims being made prior to any payments being debited.

Should any behaviour during your stay become unacceptable to us, we reserve the right without prior notice to terminate your stay and to require you to leave the premises forthwith.

Guest’s numbers are limited to the amount of guests requested at the time of reservation. Use of non booked beds will be charged at $25 per night. No extra mattresses are to be brought onto the property. If the property is reported to be overloaded, the booking will be terminated and guests will be asked to vacate with no refund made.

Our holiday premises are not pet friendly unless specified and camping or fires are not permitted within the property boundary

Smoking inside all properties is prohibited. Guests must discard cigarette butts into the rubbish bins. Cigarette butts discarded into the garden beds may incur an additional charge for cleaning.
Mystery Bay Cottages may inspect the property with reasonable notice and at any time without notice if there is any belief that there has been a breach of these conditions herein.

If the occupancy ends or the lease is terminated, guests must immediately vacate the property. Mystery Bay Cottages is authorised to do whatever is required to enforce the eviction of any guests and removal of guest’s property

Faults/ Problems

All holiday properties under Mystery Bay Cottages management are privately owned and are rented on a fully self contained basis. In the event of faults and/or malfunctions of appliances or inclusions, there is no obligation from the owner or Mystery Bay Cottages to compensate or discount.

Mystery Bay Cottages will accept no responsibility for any inconvenience with machinery breakdown. The agent’s best endeavour’s to repair, replace or hire an alternative will be undertaken.

Left items- if requested we will endeavour to recover and return items inadvertently left in a holiday property, but we take no responsibility for the recovery or return of these items. Postage and packaging and the cost of sending out a staff member to search for the item will need to be paid in advance, a minimum cost of $27.50 incl. GST applies this is at the guests expense. Low value items will be held for claiming, if returned to us, for a maximum of 2 weeks and if not claimed will be disposed of.

If keys and/or remotes are lost, a fee of $55 including GST will apply for lost keys.

Should guests lock themselves out of a property a $55 including GST call out fee is applicable

Liability & Indemnity
Guests staying in our holiday premises do so at their own risk Mystery Bay Cottages incur no liability for any loss, damage to property, personal injury or illness, including by reason of negligence. You agree to indemnify and to keep indemnified Mystery Bay Cottages and its employees against liability to any person arising under or in right of you in respect of any loss or damage arising out of or in consequence of your participation in the use of the premises managed by Mystery Bay Cottages.

Fees and Charges
By agreeing to pay the accommodation deposit you agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement, and authorise Mystery Bay Cottages to debit any and all fees and charges set out herein to the credit card details of which you provided at the time of making the accommodation deposit.

Payment Policy

A credit card is required to confirm your reservation. On acceptance of the reservation, a 50% deposit will be charged to your credit card.

The outstanding balance will be processed automatically on the credit card provided with your booking within 14 days prior to your arrival.

Credit surcharges are additional: 2.9% on AMEX and 2.75% on all other credit cards.

Any failed or non-payments will be deemed a cancellation of the booking.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policy
Greater than 3 months from arrival date – $65 administration fee
Less than 3 months from arrival date – 30% of total booking fee
Less than 1 month from arrival date – 50% of total booking fee
Arrival date onwards – 100% of total booking cost
