Ruapehu Lodge, Whakapapa Village is a unique accommodation experience situated in one of New Zealand's most scenic locations, the wonderful Tongariro National Park in the central North Island. It is one of the largest bunk houses in the area, affordable, allowing 32 plus people to stay at one time, with many facilities incl hot showers, drying room, large balcony for entertaining with view of Mountain looming over you, heaters in every room and many bathrooms/toilets & special needs access. Terms & Conditions

Please Note: The Terms & Conditions of occupancy must be agreed upon or the booking request will not be accepted or processed.

- Arrival
Your accommodation will be available to you from 12 noon on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than the agreed time as there may still be guests occupying the rooms.

- Departure
Please ensure that your room or bed is vacated by 12 noon on the day of departure, allowing time to clean up after your stay.

- Cleaning
On departure guests are required to clean the bunkroom which you occupied and contribute to cleaning of the communal living, cooking and bathroom areas. If you are the last to leave please ensure that all the fridges and freezes are emptied and all food thrown away or taken with you.

Please remember to take your rubbish and re-cycling with you when you leave. (There is a recycle centre and the bottom of the driveway, literally 1st entrance on right, leaving village)

- Late arrival procedure
Please try and arrive no later than 10pm so as to not be a disturbance to guests occupying the lodge.

- Rooms
Eating and drinking in bunk rooms is not ideal as it can leave odours and stains which are hard to remove, there are dining areas in the lower and upper levels of the lodge to eat and drink.

- Smoking
In accordance with the Law there is a no smoking policy in force. Please refrain from smoking inside the lodge.
There is a fire alarm system in operation and if this is set off by guests smoking anywhere in the lodge you will be asked to vacate the premises and expectations to pay the bill for the fire call out.
The smoking area is outside on the front deck using ashtrays provided and removing all cigarette butts when you leave.

- Damages and Breakages
Please take care when staying at the lodge. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. We ask that you do report any incidents when they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may charge you for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.

Please ensure that the lodge is locked at all times when not occupied.

- Liability
Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of NZ do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions.

- Pets
Sorry, we do not allow pets inside the lodge or on the property under any circumstances. Dogs are banned from all Whakapapa village, including vehicles.

- Privacy Policy
Any data collected during the course of this booking will not be shared with any third party.

-Cancellation Policy
By making a booking at the Ruapehu Lodge this agreement is a legal contract and the parties agree to the following terms and conditions.
Cancellations or changes must be advised as soon as practicable to allow bookings to be reopened for other guests.
A full refund of the booking fee* will be given for cancellations due to medical circumstances, or closure of the Lodge at times (for example) of a pandemic or geological activity.

A 50% refund of the booking fee* will apply for cancellations requested up to a month before the first date of your booking.
For cancellations due to bad weather or a change of travel or mind in the month before the booking date, a refund will not be given, but we can put your booking on hold until such time as you wish to rebook. The rebooking must be made within a year.

Payment Policy

Prices:

All prices quoted includes GST.
As the prices of accommodation vary, please make sure that you occupy the accommodation which you have booked and paid for.

Booking Confirmation & Payment:
100% of your booking must be paid when making your booking.

All bookings will be confirmed by email.

No school/youth group or whole lodge bookings are permitted in Peak Season (July-October), call the office if you have any questions.

No minors (under 18)are allowed to stay in the lodge unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

Infants who do not require a bed can stay free of charge.
