Sea Stacks Shacks at The Denison
Sea Stacks is a set of 3 architectural buildings nestled in the coastal grasses that overlook the Denison Rivulet in Douglas River. Three unique properties inspired by the spectacular granite coastline of the Tasmanian East Coast. Each property features either copper, brass and stone representing the minerals that give granite its strength Feldspar, Mica and Quartz.
In honour of the everchanging coastal environment, as giant sentinels rising above the coastal grasses, guarding over the tranquil rivulet. Buildings that become part of the environment,
A Sea Stacks experience is an emotional experience, a sense of isolation without loneliness, becoming immersed in the surrounding environment and not dominating it. It is an experience that pays respect to the landscape and opens a peace that comes from being within nature.
Designed to create curiosity, the buildings provide a taste of an experience, challenging one to define their own emotions by opening the doors, emerging from the safety of the timber lined cocoons and experiencing the natural wonder of the environment.
Sea Stacks is an organic experience, the buildings will change and age over time due to the elements and environment, a tactile living vessel and every moment it shares with guests is imprinted on the buildings evolution and history.

A meandering elevated boardwalk delivers you to an unassuming entrance to Feldspar. Walking through a small timber hall this south-east facing structure quickly opens into a space that captures and frames the landscape beyond. Drawing inspiration from the natural pink tones of Feldspar a copper glow illuminates the room as you sit either inside or out on the deck, immersing yourself into the environment. This slightly elevated site ensures the best possible views from all levels. Drawing inspiration from native bird hides, windows and ventilation spaces are designed to draw the outside in and provide a glimpse that lures you to yearn for more.
Climbing the timber staircase, there is a sense of anticipation, but you are again rewarded with expansive views from the king sized bedroom and a bathroom that is bathed in a glow inspired by the unique pink Tasmanian sunset, as the copper bathtub is illuminated under the skylight.

Natural timber floors and locally sourced stone combine to create this exceptional experience of raw emotion and vulnerability.
Enveloped in golden light from a vibrant and warm solid brass kitchen and bathroom this bespoke residence draws you to connect with the unique rivulet and all that this inspiring opportunity offers you.
With a series of unassuming windows providing a hint of the environment Mica lures you to leave the comfort of the building and wander the landscape to breathe in the unique landscape surrounding Sea Stacks
Over time as the buildings age they will form a closer bond with the environment and the land will begin to claim the buildings as part of nature.

The constant rejuvenation of bushland recovering from the ravages of bushfire have inspired the external façade of the Quartz building.
Recognising the strength of quartz, this building rises from the rivulet and grasslands, resonating strength and confidence in its position in the landscape. A unique south eastern facing building, boasts views of both the rivulet and crashing waves of Denison Beach.
A king sized bedroom showcases uninterrupted views of the Denison Rivulet and Beach with wide opening windows that draw you out to embrace the local estuary surroundings. Cocooned by a stone egg shaped bath illuminated by a shaft of light that envelopes your night time stargazing experience.
The open plan timber design draws its strength from the minimalist Danish Hygge movement, with strong grey stone that connects the three elements of architecture, landscape and emotion into an experience that draws you into the landscape and fascinates and inspires the curious nature of adventure.

Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to The Jan Cameron Trust and all of its trading entities, a full copy of which can be found on our website www.tasshacks.com.au.
These terms and conditions apply to all bookings for the provision of accommodation made with The Jan Cameron Trust, either directly or via a third party. By making a booking for accommodation, guests warrant that they have read these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them, subject to such changes as are notified to them. If the booking for accommodation is made through a third party, the terms and conditions of that third party also apply.
• All accommodation is provided subject to availability.
• Rates quoted are per property per night.
• If your party consists of a greater number than has been allowed for in the booking (including infants), then we reserve the right to charge for the additional guests or cancel the booking, with any refund being at the discretion of The Jan Cameron Trust.
• Check-in time is from 2pm and before 6pm, and check-out time is normally before 10am on the day of departure.

By providing credit card details, guests warrant they have the authority to use the credit card and they authorise The Jan Cameron Trust has a Code of Conduct that is available on our website to charge the cost of their booking(s) to that credit card.
We reserve the right to charge the card that you provide at the time of booking, anytime within 7 days of your booking arrival date as per our cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy
7 days or more prior to arrival: nil
6 days or less prior to arrival: agreed rate for one night per room cancelled.
This means that if you cancel less than 7 days of when you are to stay, a fee of one night will be charged to your credit card (per room booked).
Cancellations of bookings made within 24 hours of arrival: nil
No refund will be given for any unused services or non-arrival.
Please ensure that you abide by the latest Australian Covid 19 policy requirements. If you, or a member of your party test positive to Covid 19 prior to or during your stay please contact us to cancel or amend your reservation.
