Simala represents the combined vision of Simone and Alan, merging wellbeing and environment. Simone is a qualified Yoga teacher and Aromatherapist, and recognises the importance of wellbeing and its relationship with nature. Alan has a strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability, permaculture and nature. Their backgrounds in social services, management, and IT blend to support the activities at Simala.
Simala is situated on property previously part of the forest and undeveloped land in Settlers Ridge Organic Winery. The property is on Brockman Rd, between Caves Rd and Cowaramup (Cow Town), surrounded by vineyards including Howard Park, Settlers Ridge, Cape Grace, Palmer Wines. The future for Simala is driven by the goal to improve the land and create a high bio-diversity, natural bush area in the region, while establishing an environment that allows others to experience this beautiful land. Simala Retreat is ideal for weekend getaways and small retreats. An opportunity to enjoy luxury accommodation and wellbeing activities if you choose.
The local town of Cowaramup is 4 km away and is known for its village feel, gift shops, local specialities and cow monuments. Simala Retreat is close to Caves Road, situated between Dunsborough (30 km) and Margaret River (14 km) and captures all the wonder in between.
Relax in your own sanctuary at Simala Retreat or use it as a base to experience the spectacular South West region. Swimming, beach walks and sunsets at Cowaramup Bay, 4 WD, off-road bike trails galore, including the renowned Rails-to-Trails from Cowaramup to Margaret River (13.5 km), world class surf breaks, forest, caves, and bushland. Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully. When you make a booking, you accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions. It is your responsibility to ensure that all of the details on your confirmation documents are correct and to bring to our attention any errors or discrepancies within 48 hours of your booking.
Guests accept and are held fully responsible for their visitors which may result in injury or harm when staying or visiting the property and it’s surrounds.
Any breach of these terms and conditions may result in immediate eviction with no refund or cancellation of your booking.
CHECK-IN + CHECK-OUT
Standard check in time is 3pm on the day of arrival and the property is to be vacated by 11am on the day of departure. Early arrivals and late check outs are at the discretion of Management and must be requested at the time of booking and can only be confirmed 1 day prior to arrival or departure.
NUMBER OF GUESTS
The number of guests staying is not to exceed the number booked, unless prior approval is sought and given by management in writing.
FIREPLACES AND FIRES
No fires are to be lit on the property, other than the Wood Fire Fireplaces inside the Chalets and Villa.
Fireplaces are to be operated by adults over the age of 18 only and are operated at your own risk. Please ensure that you have the wood fire door closed securely at all times. If you leave the property leave the fire burning in the fireplace. The fires will burn out quickly. DO NOT try to put them out or Choke the fire. You will be held liable for any damage you cause from incorrect use.
Disturbance to other guests and neighbours including excessive noise, music and unruly behaviour is prohibited. If a noise complaint is received; a first warning will be given. If a second complaint is received the owner has the right to ask the guest to leave the property without a refund.
Guests will not be able to return to Simala Retreat if they are not mindful of noise.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept pets. No pets are permitted on the property at any time. If a guest brings a pet, we will request that they remove the pet from the property, otherwise they will be asked to leave the property with no refund.
Essentially this is a non-smoking property. If a guest requires to smoke, then we request that you smoke outside with mindfulness to the forest surrounding. All cigarette butts must be picked up and disposed of. Strictly NO SMOKING inside. Guests who do not abide by the smoking policy will also not be able to secure a repeat booking.
CLEANING, DISHWASHER and RUBBISH DISPOSAL Units must be left in the condition they were in upon guests arrival. (e.g. rubbish placed in outside bins, dishes placed in dishwasher, barbecues cleaned). Simala Retreat has supplied two outside bins for general waste, recycle material and bottles. We encourage people to use the correct bins to support sustainable practice. The Compost tin is for discarded fruit and vegies, no other food scraps.
We request that people on departure place their dishes in the dishwasher and turn it on. Preference is to use Quick Cycle, for regular 'dirty dishes'. Please report any existing damage to the chalet / villa upon your arrival. Please immediately report any damage which occurs during your stay.
MOVEMENT BETWEEN CHALETS / VILLA
Movement of furniture between chalets and also between additional spaces is not allowed. All items or furniture (indoor or outdoor) are exclusive to that particular unit and must not be moved between the three spaces. In the case of multiple bookings across our three spaces, movement of items belonging to that unit (ie. furniture, cushions, linen, appliances etc.) is discouraged. If smaller items are moved between chalets such as glasses, crockery and cutlery for the purpose of visits we do expect guests to return these items to their appropriate place.
LOST OR DAMAGED KEYS
Please note: Cost of $25.00 if you need a key replacement. If key barrels are damaged then additional repair costs will incur.
Guests and their visitors actions, conduct and safety are the responsibility of the Guests. Simala Retreat do not condone: unsafe, irresponsible or illegal actions/behaviour etc. on or off the premises, during a stay or at any other time. A condition of entering and/or staying at this property means that all Guests understand and agree to indemnify the agent and owners against any responsibility or action(s) (legal or other), due to any action(s), incident(s), loss or injury(s) while within or outside of the premises (including, but not limited to, the grounds, facilities, structures, etc.) during a stay or at any other time.
50% deposit required on booking, remaining 50% required 7 days prior to booking. If payment is not received Simala Retreat reserves the right to cancel your booking.
Rates quoted are in Australian dollars and are subject to change at any time. Rates are inclusive of GST where applicable. Any verbal quote given is an estimate only of price, which will be subject to a written advice on confirmation of the booking. Minimum length of stay restrictions apply to certain rates during special event periods.
Preferred method of payment is Visa or Mastercard or a Direct Bank Transfer which will not incur any fee. American Express is accepted and will incur a 2% surcharge.
Overseas guests must use a credit card facility. Overseas bank transfers are not accepted.
- Cancellations with MORE THAN 14 days notice prior to your arrival, will not incur a cancellation fee and you will be fully refunded.
-Cancellations with LESS THAN 14 days notice prior to your arrival date will incur a 50% cancellation fee of the total booking.
- Cancellations WITHIN 7days of your arrival date will incur 100% cancellation fee of the total booking.
Written notification must be provided for all cancellations.
In the event Simala Retreat needs to cancel your accommodation for circumstances beyond our control a full refund will be made. However we will not be held liable for any further costs incurred. We strongly recommend travel insurance to cover cancellations, travel delays and all other unforeseen incidents and accidents.
