Built in 1861 and now Heritage listed for it's Georgian Streetscape, the Gaol House allows our guests to experience the feeling of days gone by. Featuring the original gaol cells and cell doors, the Gaol House makes for an unforgettable Tasmanian experience.

Decorated with period influences, the original pit-sawn floorboards and the open fireplace in the lounge have been preserved. The Gaol has a queen bed and two singles, a kitchen, lounge with open fire and dining room.
Ideal for families or couples, the Gaol is heated by the open fire and heat pump with panel heaters in both bedrooms and electric blankets on all beds. This is a fully self contained cottage.

The Old School House

Bicheno's original Primary School, from 1935 to 1958, this beautiful timber building provides all the comforts of home and can accommodated up to four people.

Ideal for families, the open plan layout of the ground floor is suitable for wheelchair access. There is a queen bed down stairs and two single beds on a mezzanine floor. The fully equipt kitchen and lounge room are heated by an electric heater. There is a panel heater on the bedroom wall, and all beds have electric blankets.

Scarlet Robin Book

Scarlet Robin is a two bedroom apartment with a large kitchen & living area that has a freestanding wood heater. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, an ensuite with a separate spa bath and shower. For extra convenience it has a bar fridge, microwave, toaster and tea/coffee making facilities. The second bedroom has a Queen size bed and access to the main bathroom which includes a washing machine and dryer. The apartment consists of the whole upper-story of Forest House and has a lovely private veranda with views out over the gardens and of the sea.
There is a shared BBQ facilitates on the lower ground for guest usage. Forest House is approximately 3km south of the centre of Bicheno, on Tasmania's sunny East Coast.

Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all bookings for the provision of accommodation made with Seaview Holiday Park (SHP) & TasShacks (TS), either directly or via a third party. By making a booking for accommodation, guests warrant that they have read these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them subject to such changes as are notified to them. If the booking for accommodation is made through a third party, the terms and conditions of that third party also apply.

All accommodation is provided subject to availability.

Rates are per unit/cabin/room, per night based on two-person occupancy. In some cases, we have an option to include extra persons in your booking and extra charges usually apply.
If your party consists of a greater number than has been allowed for in the booking (including infants), then we reserve the right to immediately cancel the booking, with any refund being at SHP & TS’s discretion.

By providing credit card details, guests warrant they have the authority to use the credit card and they authorise SHP & TS’s to charge the cost of their booking(s) to that credit card.

Please be aware that check-in time is normally after 2pm and before 6pm, and check-out time is normally by 10am on the day of departure. If you are arriving outside of check-in hours it’s important that you make prior arrangements for access. Tel: 03 63751247 or

Do’s and Don’ts
Here are a few do's and don'ts that apply during your stay at SHP & TS’s sites:

1. There is a speed limit of 10kmph around SHP & TS’s sites.

2. In order to preserve the peaceful atmosphere at SHP & TS’s sites, we reserve the right to refuse entry to any guests, and/or their visitors who do not respect our ethos.

3. The operation of drones is only permitted at SHP & TS’s sites with managements prior written approval.

4. We would request that you please do not use any massage or baby oil on the beds, or any bleaching agents on the towels, if this occurs we have to replace the damaged items. If any items are lost, damaged or broken during your visit we should be grateful if you could let us know so that we can arrange a repair or replacement. We also reserve the right to charge visitors for any damage that occurs that we consider to be over and above normal wear and tear.

5. Guests are responsible for their own washing and drying of dishes in the self-catering establishments. If guests choose to leave washing and drying up at the end of their stay, then we do reserve the right to charge them for the additional time that this takes our housekeepers to complete, with a minimum fee of $25 being applied.

6. Some of our accommodation venues are dog friendly. If you are bringing your dog, you must abide by our rules. A copy is available on our websites or by request at

7. When you leave the accommodation, can you please turn off all heaters and lights so that we can keep our carbon footprint to a minimum?

The guest can cancel free of charge until 7 days before arrival.

The guest will be charged the first night if they cancel in the 7 days before arrival.

SHP & TS’s reserves the right to cancel a booking for whatever reason. Should this occur then the booking fee will be fully refunded, but no responsibility will ensue to SHP & TS’s for any consequential loss to the client as a result of that cancellation.

SHP & TS’s cannot be held responsible for damages or compensation for cancellation or curtailment in unforeseeable circumstances that prevent you from fulfilling your booking.

If you believe that there is a possibility that you might cancel or curtail, for whatever reason, then you should arrange your own cancellation insurance.
