Cassowary prides itself as being an exemplary world-class boutique facility accommodating guests' comforts and desires while being sensitive to the environment. Cassowary has been awarded a five-star rating for energy efficiency thus contributing to a reduction in the Cassowary's carbon footprint. Here you will find a luxurious, fully self-contained retreat nestled in a serene natural setting. We provide a full retreat experience offering three king suites, two twin suites and extra multi-purpose suite for extra guests.
From its elevated position Cassowary offers a spectacular vista dominated by features such as Mt.Demi and the majestic Thornton's Peak in the heart of the Daintree. Just 15 minutes from the internationally renowned resort town of Port Douglas, and 40 minutes to the Daintree River Ferry, Cassowary is the ideal base for exploring the Great Barrier Reef, World Heritage-listed rainforests, the Daintree National Park and also to enjoy the amenities of Port Douglas. The local village Mossman is only five minutes away offering local stores for any groceries required throughout your stay.
From the high-end teak imported furniture, colorful accents and fabrics to the Dana- series oil on canvas art pieces. The artist, Dante Palmes, resides in the Philippines and his Dana series is a vibrant collection that captures and brings the lush beauty of the rainforest into your suite. Cassowary featured in the top 50 Interiors in Australia - House & Garden Collector's Edition, October 2009. Credit card surcharge for each transaction at 2% (Visa & Mastercard) and 3% (American Express).
To hold booking a $1000 deposit is required
Bookings are confirmed upon full payment which is required one month in advance of the stay.
All cancellations will be charged a $100 administration fee and non refundable $1000 booking deposit (Total : $1,100)
Cancellations more than 28 days prior to arrival - full refund less $100 administration fee and non refundable $1000 booking deposit (Total : $1,100)

Check in/Check out Policy
Check in is at 3pm on the day of arrival - meet & greet location with our onsite manager will be sent via link
Check out is 10am on the day of departure - departure inspection at 10am will be conducted by our onsite manager
Housekeeping fee
We expect our guests to leave the property in the way they received it.
If housekeeping is required throughout the stay it is $150/day
Following check out with our property manager we will further charge housekeeping fee if property requires cleaning.

Payment Policy
The Cassowary comfortably sleeps 10 people, however the bedding layout can be reconfigured to accommodate up to 14 guests by prior arrangement.
