Property Information
The cabins at "The Ship - Bay of Fires"
Overlooking over pristine native forests to the Tasman Sea in Binalong Bay, the cabins at "The Ship - Bay of Fires" are the perfect place to base your East Coast of Tasmania adventure escape.
Nestled on 27 hectares of walking trails with ocean views and abundant native wildlife, you are assured of peace and quiet, privacy and a view of the stars that have to be seen to be believed. The only man-made structure you can see from the property (other than The Ship) is the beam from Eddystone Point lighthouse, at night, some 30kms away and the occasional satellite or space station some 300kms overhead .
A self-contained room with a queen Safire mattress for the ultimate night's sleep, your own bathroom with all that you need, access to an undercover outdoor kitchen and communal gathering area with a fire pit on cool evenings - perfection. Each room have Tasmanian luxury Waverley Woolen Mills blankets and scarves for those cool nights. The rooms feature art by Tasmanian artist Nick Glade-Wright, antique oars from the Sepik River in Papua New Guinea, original bills of lading from the 1800's as well as an extensive and eclectic library in each room. 4K television connected to high speed internet and free Elon Musk inspired wifi.
With an ethos for sustainability, The Ship is close to "off grid" (with future plans to go completely off grid). Solar powered predominately and with water harvested from the sky, your footprint is minimal whilst relaxing and comfortable.
Your hosts live on the property and will warmly welcome you on your arrival and are available 24 / 7 for anything you may need.
For that extra special stay, enquire about "The Captain's breakfast" on the deck with freshly brewed coffee or a sneaky sparkling - not cheap, but worth it!
Only an hour from the famous mountain bike tracks of Derby and at the end of "The Bay of Fires descent" (a 44km trail starting in Poimena on the Blue Tier and ending at Swimcart beach in Binalong Bay), The Ship - Bay of Fires is the perfect location to relax after body taxing ride down the mountain. A two-minute drive and you are on the main beach at Binalong Bay for a "cold plunge" first thing in the morning, or an inspiring swim during the day. Go for a fish, a ride around the region, hang out at Maresta Eatery overlooking the beach, find the "locals table" and have some oysters on the rocks....or just stay at The Ship and relax.....the options are endless.
We cannot wait to have you stay at The Ship - it is a dream come true for us, and we aim to make it a dream come true for you as well.
