Never stayed in a bed and breakfast before, or shudder to think of the frills that are associated with it. Think again. There’s no doily-brigade here at the Tuck Inn – a bed and breakfast located only 30 seconds (give or take a few!) onto the main street of Healesville. No matter the reason for your time in Healesville or the Yarra Valley, if you are in need of a sparkling clean room (where our elbow grease and attention to detail is evident), super comfy beds with fresh, crisp white linen and an included scrummy cooked brekkie – then give our bed & breakfast in Yarra Valley a try.

Our Bed and Breakfast has 5 well-appointed bedrooms with plenty of natural light, all with their own private ensuites and FREE Wi-Fi.

Sip, chew, chomp, relax, nibble and chat to your heart’s content in our HUGE communal living room with vaulted ceilings. Nestle by the fire in winter or bask in the sun-filled garden in summer. The communal living room is where you can access TV/DVD/coffee/tea making facilities and where all our guests enjoy their included breakfast each morning. For those who prefer their own privacy and personal space, we would recommend you book the King Suite. This suite offers you a private living area (TV/DVD) and kitchenette (microwave/mini fridge) along with a private ensuite all to yourself.

Singles, couples or groups (10 adults as maximum) are all welcome here to stay. On that note: the one thing the Tuck Inn lends itself to perfectly is a get together – in the bygone days it was a meeting place and it still retains the character and warmth you would look for when you want to get together with family or friends. Ten adults can comfortably stay the night across our 3x Queen Rooms, 1x King Room and 1x King Suite.

The King Suite the largest and most well-appointed room within the B&B. The very comfy King Size Bed is complemented with plenty of natural light, and has crisp, fresh white linen (and towels) along with eco.fresh shower products. The room has its own private ensuite consisting of a shower, a basin and a toilet.

We have created a stylish and comfortable bedroom connected to your own private lounge/ dining area and kitchenette to allow you to relax, eat, drink and indulge in your own privacy.

Within your private lounge, we provide freshly ground coffee and a selection of teas with milk in the fridge. The lounge comprises of a Settee, TV, DVD and CD player with a range of movies and music available. The Kitchenette comprises of all crockery and cutlery for meals, snacks and nibbles, a bar fridge, sink and microwave is also included. Dining table with 2 chairs.

CHECK IN TIMES: Self check in from 2PM
*This is how the self-check in process operates:
1. The day prior to your arrival you will receive a confirmation text from myself prompting how to check in.
2. Then, on the day of arrival, you will then receive all your ‘self-check in’ instructions via a text message when your room/apartment is ready - typically no later than 2pm. Of course, if it's ready any earlier I will advise you via a text message.
3. I will be on touch with each guest prior to their check in to agree what is the best method to use for your self-check in instructions. It can be either via email, text message, WhatsApp however it will need to be a method you can access on the day.
CHECK OUT TIMES: STRICTLY 10:30AM
DEPOSITS | FINAL PAYMENT: A 50% deposit is required to secure any booking, taken from an accepted credit card. *Please note we DO NOT accept Diners and American Express cards. The remaining amount is payable on the morning of arrival which will be automatically deducted from the given credit card.
INCIDENTALS: When booking and paying through a 3rd party booking site, we (‘Tuck Inn’ and ‘The Old Mechanics’) will still require from you a credit card to hold on file for any incidentals/damage. We will contact you directly for this information.
WALK INS: For all walk-ins (i.e. on the day of enquiry and check in), the full room rate will need to be paid up front on an accepted credit card. *Please note we DO NOT accept Diners and American Express cards.
NO KIDS ALLOWED: Unfortunately, we do not cater for children/toddlers/infants younger than 18 years of age.
NON-PAYING GUESTS: No NON PAYING guests are allowed on the premises or allowed to be invited back by a PAYING guest at any time. Each room accommodates a maximum of 2 adults only.
NO SMOKING: The 'Tuck Inn Bed and Breakfast' and 'The Old Mechanics' are both non smoking establishments.
PETS: No pets allowed on the premises.
BICYCLES: No bicycles are allowed to be stored in the bedrooms. We do have outdoor areas where we can arrange for the bicycles to be stored.
NOISE LEVELS/LOUD MUSIC: We would want you to enjoy your stay here at ‘Tuck Inn’ and 'The Old Mechanics' however, we would request that all noise levels are kept to a minimum after 10:30pm. This is especially applicable for the communal living and the outdoor areas.
PARTIES: ‘Tuck Inn’ and 'The Old Mechanics' is not to be used for any party of any nature. We (the owners) do live on site and such strive to maintain a calming environment for all guests and neighbours.
KITCHEN: Applicable to ‘The Old Mechanics’ only. Should the property (all four apartments) be booked for the same duration by one group, we can unlock a kitchen for an additional fee of $110.
KEYS: Should any keys be missing/not returned, the guest authorizes the ‘Tuck Inn’ and 'The Old Mechanics' to debit them for the full costs of the replacement set and any additional costs that are incurred for this process.
BREAKAGES/DAMAGES: We expect that the room/s, apartments booked for the duration of your stay to be returned to us in the condition they were presented to you on your arrival. Breakages or damages not caused by normal wear and tear will be charged to your Credit Card. Charges will be imposed if the room/facilities are left in an unreasonable condition, e.g. where excessive cleaning is required (this includes soiled linen/carpets/fixtures and fittings in the room, mud on carpet etc), where furniture is broken/damaged, and where damages are caused to bathroom fixtures and fittings.
LINEN: All bedroom linen and throws (blankets) must not be removed from the bedroom. Where linen is missing, a charge will be made to replace it.
LATE CALL OUT FEE: A fee of $100 will be charged to you (the guest) for a late call out fee. Some examples will include (1) not being able to locate your keys through intoxication or the other (2) not having a set of keys to enter the building as your other party has the keys (3) Trying to check in outside our office hours and not attempting to read your ‘self check in’ instructions provided and agreed prior. We only provide one set of keys and as such it's your responsibility to manage those keys accordingly.
Cancellation Policy for individual room bookings:
• Cancellations made within 14 days notice (but not less than 7 days) of your arrival date, will receive a refund of the deposit amount less a $20 administration fee.
• Cancellations made within 7 days notice of your arrival date, will not receive a refund of the deposit amount.
• Cancellations made within 48 hours notice of your arrival date will be charged 100% of the overnight tariff.
• If the guest fails to arrive on the due date without prior notification, 100% of the tariff will be charged.

Cancellation Policy for group bookings (for example; 3 rooms or more for any particular booking):
• Cancellations made outside of 21 days of your arrival date, will receive a full refund
• Cancellations made within 21 days notice (but not less than 14 days) of your arrival date, will receive a refund of the deposit amount less a $20 administration fee.
• Cancellations made within 14 days notice of your arrival date, will not receive a refund of the deposit amount.
• Cancellations made within 7 days notice of your arrival date will be charged 100% of the overnight tariff. This means no refund on your deposit and you will further be charged the outstanding amount payable as detailed on your confirmation booking.
• If the guest fails to arrive on the due date without prior notification, 100% of the tariff will be charged.

Please understand that it is our intention to operate a viable business and provide you, our guests, with an accommodation experience that exceeds your expectations. These terms are in place to assist us in doing just that. We are a business that operates with integrity so arrangements can be made in a time of emergency to reallocate your reservation to another date if indeed the emergency is genuine. Relocating your reservation is subject to management discretion.
