Terms & Conditions

Wherewithal Suites Pty Ltd (Wherewithal) aims to ensure that all guests have an incredible time here. We ask that our guests following the following policies during their stay.

Please note that we upgrade and restyle the Suites seasonally, and the furnishings and décor may differ from those in our advertised photos.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE:

Check-in is available from 2:00pm. Early check-in may be available depending on availability.

Check-out time is 11:00am. Late check out may be available depending on availability.

Both Suites are equipped with keyless entry facilities, and guests may self check-in at any time after 2:00pm.

DAMAGE AND LOSS:

Please respect our property and furnishings. Damage to our facilities will impact out future guests.

Guests are financially responsible for any loss or damage caused to any rooms and its contents (normal wear and tear excluded) during their stay.

Wherewithal does not take responsibility for guests’ personal belongings on the property, including vehicles. It is each guest’s responsibility to ensure that their Suite is secured when leaving personal belongings inside.

Please note that Wherewithal is located in a rural area. When driving between dusk and sunset, native animals will be on the property and the surrounding roads – drive with caution.

ETIQUETTE:

Please respect other guests’ right to experience a safe, clean, tidy, relaxing environment throughout their stay. Please keep volumes at a reasonable level at all times, particularly any noise outside as sound carries through our valley.

MAINTENANCE AND FARMING:

Three extremely friendly dorper sheep (wethers) live at Wherewithal – Johnny, Harry and Keith. Although we endeavour to keep them contained, they are cunning escape artists. You may encounter them as you drive through Wherewithal. Please contact us immediately if they are congregating in front of a gate you need to traverse – there is a good chance they are not allowed on the other side!

Johnny, Harry and Keith were hand-reared and will eat from your hand. Please do not hesitate to ask for some pellets if you would like to feed and pet them.

Property maintenance may be carried out between 10:00an and 3:00pm. This may include tractor and power tool noise for landscaping work.

Please note that many of Wherewithal’s neighbours are working farms, and Wherewithal itself is a hobby farm. Some farming noise (occasional machinery) can be expected from time to time, during working hours.

INTERNET:

All Suites have free and unrestricted access to high-speed WiFi.

Wherewithal offers our guests free access to our high-speed internet services, subject to the following restrictions:

* Illegal activities: any use of the internet for illegal purposes, including but not limited to the transmission, distribution, or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited;
* Malicious activities: engaging in activities that could harm or disrupt the hotel's network, other users, or any other networks connected to the internet is prohibited;
* Copyright violations: unauthorised downloading, sharing, or distribution of copyrighted materials is prohibited;
* Inappropriate content: accessing, downloading, or distributing offensive, indecent, or otherwise objectionable content is prohibited; and
* Unauthorised Access: Attempting to access or use someone else's account, data, or information without authorisation is prohibited.

If any of the above prohibited activities are identified, Wherewithal will cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities. Guest information may be disclosed to the police to aid in the investigation of any illegal activities.

Guests are responsible for their own internet-enabled devices and are urged to use up-to-date security measures, such as firewalls and antivirus software, to protect against online threats.

Wherewithal is not responsible for the content accessed or transmitted by guests over the internet. Guests are solely responsible for their online activities.

SMOKING:

Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors. If smoking outdoors, guests must ensure that all windows and doors to their suite are closed, and their smoke does not travel to another Suite. Guests must properly dispose of cigarette butts in a sealed container (not directly in a rubbish bin inside the Suite), and Wherewithal does not supply ashtrays.

FIRE:

The fire pit and chiminea pit are available for all guests to use at any time (subject to Tasmanian fire bans). Wherewithal will provide all kindling, wood and lighters. The fire must be supervised at all times, and particular care must be taken during periods of high wind.

BBQ FACILITIES:

Wherewithal maintains a portable barbecue for guests’ use, free of charge, on request. If requested, we sill set the barbeque up on the terrace of your Suite. Please do not move the barbecue inside the Suite. Guests are asked to turn the gas bottle after finishing with the barbecue.

WATER AND SEPTIC:

Wherewithal runs on rainwater, which is filtered for guests’ bathing, showering and washing. The water is safe to drink, and there is an additional inline filter on the kitchen mixer tap for additional filtration.

Water to the Suites is heated by a gas bottle system. We aim to ensure that these do not empty during a stay, however if guests experience a loss of hot water, please contact us and we will change the bottle immediately.

Please help us to keep our septic system working by only flushing toilet paper down the toilet. Please do not flush wet wipes of any kind, even if they claim to be flushable, as they can clog in the septic system. Wherewithal provides a sealed rubbish bin in the bathroom for wipes, sanitary products and other waste.

Similarly, please dispose of food waste in the bin, or feed it to our chickens,* instead of washing it down the sink.

*Our chickens, ducks and guinea fowl can, and will, eat almost everything (including meat scraps and egg shells, provided the egg shells are crushed). Please do not give them any onion or citrus as these foods are not good for them.

HAZARDS:

The property at Wherewithal is large areas of steep slopes, large trees (including gums which may drop limbs without warning, especially after rain or heavy winds), wombat and rabbit holes, and dams. Guests are urged to take precautions when walking around the property, and we caution against walking outside the fenced area at night.

First aid kits are provided in each room.

ANIMALS:

Many, many wallabies and kangaroos live at Wherewithal, and will emerge at dusk. Although they are wild and will not approach humans, they are prone to leaping in front of cars. Please use high beam, and drive slowly on the property (and the surrounding roads) to avoid a collision.

Wherewithal is also home to a number of echidnas, who occasionally reveal themselves in the warmer months. They are very timid and will curl into a ball if approached. Please do not touch the echidnas, or try to ‘uncurl’ them for photos.

The possums at Wherewithal are very bold. Please do not leave any food on the terrace (except for inside the bar cart), as the possums can and will find it.

Some fences are electrified due to livestock on parts of the property. These are low-voltage lines, however to avoid the risk of being shocked, please do not touch any fence wires.

As we are on a rural property, please be aware that snakes, ticks, spiders and other insects live nearby. In warmer months, flies will seek out the Suites – fly spray is provided for guests to use if necessary.

SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN:

Wherewithal is designed as an adults only, romantic luxury retreat. If children are onsite at any time, they must be supervised at all times. The safety of all children is the sole responsibility of their parents or guardians.

PETS:

Wherewithal is not pet friendly. Guests who are travelling with dogs may wish to contact us for local dog-sitter recommendations.

OUR DISCRETION:

Wherewithal may reject booking enquiries in our absolute discretion, and we need not provide any reasons for that rejection.

Wherewithal reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time and for any reasons. Current and upcoming guests will be notified of any significant changes.

Payment Policy

100% of the total room rate is payable at the time of booking.

In accordance with our policies, guests will not be charged any credit card surcharges.

Wherewithal Suites reserves the right to adjust room rates at any time.

Cancellation Policy

Bookings must be cancelled in writing by email to stay@wherewithal.au

Standard Rate Bookings:
Full refund if booking cancelled up to 14 days before check-in date.
50% refund if booking cancelled between 14 and 7 days before check-in date.
0% refund if cancelled less than 7 days prior to check-in date.

Non-Refundable Rate Bookings:
0% refund on cancellation of booking.
Travel dates can be changed subject to availability.
