In the heart of the dramatic Murchison region, Wooleen Station represents the very heart and soul of Australia’s outback.

Covering half a million acres of picturesque rangelands, Wooleen Station is a cattle station that is playing a leading role in preserving and sustaining the unique ecology of the region.Wooleen Lake and its heritage listed Wetlands is a semi-permanent home to a vast array of animal and bird life when its full and when its dry.

In Spring, the land comes to life with a multitude of wildflowers after the correct winter rainfall. The Murchison River runs through the Station, only a short drive from the Homestead.

Wooleen’s nature-based station stay offers a multitude of experiences, from colonial and Aboriginal heritage tourism to nature based tours.

The vegetation and the quality of the land make the Wooleen property one of the finest stations in Australia. This is a new kind of holiday. If you are interested in ecology and the culture of the Australian bush then Wooleen is the place for you.

The Couples Guesthouse is 2 bedroom, with bathroom, separate toilet, full kitchen, dining/living area, open fire place and outdoor al fresco area. 2 x Queen bed and 1 x single beds are provided with the option to add a roll-away. The building is a mixture of new, natural and recycled materials with many of the doors and windows being rescued from an old homestead in the pastoral region. This mix of materials gives the impression of an older character building but the freshness of new accommodation. All linen and towels are supplied and the beds are made up with beautiful feather and down quilts and big European cushions on queen sized beds. Board games and cards are supplied in the houses and a BBQ area outside. The guesthouses are located approx. 150m from the main homestead in a natural bush setting with immediate gardens made up of native plants for privacy. This makes them easy walking/driving distance to the house should guests require assistance but far enough away to still appreciate and soak up the natural and tranquil outback setting.

Set up your tent, camper trailer or caravan at the Murchison River, located 16kms North from the Wooleen homestead. Prior to setting out from the homestead, sign your ‘commitment to country’ document and join Wooleen Station in their goal of land rehabilitation and sustainable grazing. Each site has its own fire-pit and two rustic composting toilets are available for your use. Wooleen does not supply firewood but can direct guests to appropriate collection points. Otherwise, BYO wood is recommended. River sites are located at least 100- 200 meters apart, to ensure your quiet and peaceful camping experience. Rocky Outcrop Camping

Rocky Outcrop Camping Book

Set up your tent, camper trailer or caravan at the Rocky Outcrop Camp, located 7kms west from the Wooleen homestead. This campsite is great for exclusive use (you won't be sharing with anyone else!) otherwise it fosters the perfect environment for groups. Heading out camping with a group of friends? The Rocky Outcrop site comfortably fits many vehicles amongst its amphitheater of rocks. Prior to setting out from the homestead, sign your ‘commitment to country’ document and join Wooleen Station in their goal of land rehabilitation and sustainable grazing. Wooleen does not supply firewood but can direct guests to appropriate collection points. Otherwise, BYO wood is recommended. A composting toilet is available at the campsite. Terms & Conditions

All amendments are subject to the availability and applicable pricing at the time the amendment is requested.

If you do not show up for your booking or terminate your booking early after you have checked in you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee and will be required to pay to Wooleen Station the full amount of your booking less any amount which you have already paid.

Standard check-in time is 2:00 pm. If you require to check-in before this time please contact The Station to arrange this.
Standard check-out time is 10:00 am but a late check-out extra may be purchased to allow yourself more time.

Whilst care is taken to ensure that the description of facilities and services of Wooleen Station is accurate, these are continually being changed, upgraded, and on occasion taken out of service and if any feature/facility is essential to you in choosing a particular room type, it is your responsibility to confirm with Wooleen Station prior to making your booking that the feature/facility will be available during your stay.

Accommodation facilities listed may not apply to all room types.

Whilst Wooleen Station attempts to satisfy all special requests, Wooleen Station does not guarantee that special requests can be accommodated.

Map images, if shown, are for general information and may not necessarily reflect actual routings, locations or services provided.

Wooleen Station strongly recommends that at the time of booking you purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover items including but not limited to: loss of booking amount through cancellation, loss or damage to personal baggage, loss of money and medical expenses. Wooleen is located in a remote location and travel insurance can protect you from unforeseeable circumstances.

All guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult such as a parent, step-parent, guardian or other adult who has parental rights and responsibilities for the under 18-year-old guest.

Any confirmed price is subject to change if:
a payment which is due on a booking is not received by Wooleen Station by the date the payment is due; or
there is a change in or imposition of a government charge, tax or levy which entitles or necessitates Wooleen Station changing the price of your booking; or
any details relating to your booking are amended, for example your dates of stay, your room type or the number of persons staying under your booking.

Payment Policy

Wooleen Station requires a 50% deposit at the time of booking to secure your stay. Payment can be made with Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, EFTPOS, Union Pay, cheque, EFT or cash.

The remaining 50% of your stay is payable on arrival at the station using the above methods.

Cancellation Policy

Should the need arise to cancel or reschedule your stay, notice should be given more than 14 days prior to arrival to avoid a cancellation fee being charged.

If cancelled 0 - 14 days before arrival, 100% of the deposit will be forfeited. If cancelled 14+ days before arrival, 0% of the deposit will be forfeited.

A full refund of your stay will be available if you're unable to travel to Wooleen Station due to the closure of roads as a result of rain, flood, fire or other road damage.

You shall comply with all Government (Federal and State) COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements for entry into Western Australia or to access Wooleen Stations premises and services. Where you do not meet a vaccination or testing requirement:
(a) prior to departure from your home location, you will forfeit any and all monies paid; or
(b) for entry to Wooleen Station, you will not be granted entry and will forfeit any and all monies paid.

Where the need to cancel your stay due to travel restrictions resulting from COVID-19 other than vaccination or testing requirement, you will be contacted and offered a refund.

Wooleen Station reserves the right to withhold some monies to cover administrative expenses and other losses, dependent on when notice of cancellation is given by the customer.
